A Darkspace Connection Guide for v1.481 and Beyond

So, you've downloaded the new Darkspace 1.481 client, eager to see what this game is all about. Installed it, and now you want to know, WHAT DO I DO!? Here's some basic information on what you do.

First, of course, open up Darkspace. This will take you to the front menu.

Lobby: This takes you to the real Darkspace, well, the online lobby anyway. The lobby is where you can chat, view the darkspace.net website, and do other neat stuff. This is also where you'd want togo to play the game online.

Tutorial: If you've just downloaded this game, here's where you should go. There's two different tutorial missions that you are recommended to try before you try playing online.

Mission Viewer: This is a viewer that is used on user created maps,etc. to well...view it.

Map Editor: Here's where you can enter the map editor and make your own scenarios for your own servers.

Setup: Here's where you can modify your graphics/audio/modem settings.

Once you've completed the tutorial, you should click on Lobby. First the game will look for any updates there might be, then it will popup a login screen. Since you are probably new, click on New Login to create your account. And then enter the info into the boxes and click enter.

Welcome to the Darkspace Lobby, the hub of Darkspace. Here's where you can chat with others, check out the darkspace.net website and go play some Darkspace!

1. This is the chat screen where the you chat.

2. This is the Darkspace.net website, it includes forums, news, some downloads, and more info.

3. This the playerlist of people currently in this lobby room.

4. This is the header, with the options to play the game, etc.

Lobby: Switch between the Darkspace Release and Darkspace Beta Lobbies.
Play: Get to the server select screen to pick a server to play on.
Update: Check for any updates for the game.
Tutorial: An extra spot to access the tutorial.
Setup: Same as tutorial.
Rooms: Switch between the different chatrooms in the lobby.
Friends: Status List for your Friends/Buddies in Darkspace.
Fleet: Status List for your fleetmates (Must be in a Fleet)
Home: Sends the ingame browser to the frontpage of darkspace.net
News: Sends the ingame browser to the news.
Forum: Well, same as it sounds, goes to the forums.
Downloads: Goes to the Downloads Section.
Profile: View your Darkspace Profile, includes all your stats on Darkspace.
