The Death Of Hannelore
by: Tech21 | March 3, 2003

[Jump to: Temple City Ambush | The Death Of Hannelore | Terminal Hospitality]

The cult leader is going to need more than a couple of bumbling brothers from the Northern province to protect him from the grasp of 47. After eliminating the friendly competition, our Hitman was able to discover the secret passage to the cult compound. But before heading into the lion's den, his first mission is to assassinate a physician, Dr. Von Kamprad, in her posh offices across the bay from the hospital. Gaining entrance is fairly easy, but the place is well guarded inside. And on top of that, killing a civilian or allowing Von Kamprad's body to be spotted will cause automatic mission failure.

Load-Out

The last level was absolutely teeming with extra weapons, depending on whom you were willing to kill. You should now have a nice assortment of handguns, including a Desert Eagle, 9mm and possibly a revolver. The concealable SMG was also an easy grab, which should make for an excellent "problem solver" should things get hairy around the hospital.

Walkthrough

After making his way through the secret passage, 47 now finds himself on the lower docks of a fabulous Indian estate, which happens to be a hospital/resort for the richest (and sickest) people of the world. Somewhere inside is Dr. Von Kamprad, so our first chore is to gain access. There are two doors to the inside: one is guarded by two stationary guards, while the other is watched by one guard who periodically goes to relieve himself and another who patrols along the bluff leading to the helipad. A fifth guard patrols along the lower docks.

You immediately find yourself standing behind a spare boat on the dock. Remain here for a moment - it's the best way to stay out of sight. You should see a turban-wearing guard walking toward you (if your don't see him right away, just hang out for a moment - it's part of his set patrol route). He will approach the boat, and then turn his back where he stands for a few moments. Be waiting in sneak mode, approach him from behind and wire him. Take his clothes and pistol, then either leave the body (no one will see it), or drag it into the bay (not necessary, but a nice touch). His disguise will give you access to the entire premises, so this is an easy way to begin the mission with confidence.

Head up the pathway to the rear entrance, where you'll see two guards stationed at the door. It's important to keep walking without hesitation when making your way inside; otherwise the bouncing threat-meter may jump off the scales, and we certainly don't want to start a firefight this early in the game. Once in the inner courtyard, head to the southwest corner of the building, into the room marked on your map as a point of interest. The reason it's marked is because there is a cult-member disguise on the bed, but since we already have our disguise, the room just serves another purpose: to give you access to the storage room.

The storage room is marked on your map with a red Agency symbol, and inside you'll find a bottle of poison and a key to one of the storage closets upstairs, as well as a 9mm SD and an AK-47. On the other side of the southern door of the bedroom you are currently in, is a turban-wearing guard. While he won't mind you walking past him into the storage room, it's best to wait for him to go into the bathroom before making your move. So, watch the map, and when he walks into the bathroom, head through the door, turn left and enter the storage room. Grab the key from off the wall and pick up the poison, then return to the bedroom you were in.

[Save Game]

Now exit back into the courtyard, and head to the northeast corner of the building to the other marked point of interest room. Inside on the bed is a set of hospital patient garb. Go ahead and change into these. Be cautious that occupant of that particular room is nowhere around, or he'll be quick to tattle on you to the nearest guard. The clothes happen to belong to a Lord Sinclair, who is staying at the hospital and receiving a kidney transplant operation courtesy of Dr. Von Kamprad.

Dressed as the patient, make your way back to the courtyard, and now enter the northern rotunda, which houses staircases leading up to Von Kamprad's offices. The guards at the door will actually greet you when you enter (maybe they think you're a chemo patient). Once inside, walk over to the nurse sitting on the sofa facing you when you enter. She will also greet you, and ask you to follow her up to the good doctor's office. Do as she says and follow her upstairs, but when she enters Von Kamprad's office, do not follow. Just remain in the upstairs rotunda.

[Save Game]

There is a patient who will periodically make his way upstairs to check with Von Kamprad, and coincidently, he is triggered to go upstairs at the exact moment the nurse takes you there. It is possible to kill the doctor and hide her body before he gets there, but it's takes extremely quick timing. So instead of risking it, just wait for him to come upstairs and talk to the doctor; then when he leaves and returns downstairs, you can go to work. It will be a long while before he comes up again.

So, walk into Dr. Von Kamprad's office. She will greet you and delve into a lengthy spiel about how much a "specialist" like herself is worth to a lowly kidney patient. While she has her back turned looking over the balcony, walk over to her glass of water on the desk and use the provided menu option to poison the water. When the doctor finishes talking, she will walk over to the desk, take a drink and promptly fall into a heap on the floor.

Drag her body directly out the main office door and across the center of the rotunda to the hiding place (marked on map). It may seem better to stay close to the walls while dragging the body, but the guards at the top of the steps have an easy chance of spotting you this way. Just do the obvious, and drag the body right across the center of the floor. Once the body is hidden safely in the storage closet, head back downstairs, and return to your starting place next to the dock. For an added touch, change back into your freshly folded suit before hoping in the motorboat. It's off to hospital island... in style.
