Playable Characters |
Kirby |
This small, pink fellow is from the mystical place called Dream Land, and his movelist in Smash Bros contains his signature attack: to swallow and absorb his enemy's power. His other original moves include rock drop (Down + B), final cutter (Up + B), and his forward and backward body slams (Grab + Right or Left on control stick). Kirby enters each match using a warp star.

Costumes |
Yellow Kirby |
When Kirby was first created, Masahiro Sakurai (creator of the Kirby and Smash Bros games) wanted him to be pink while Shigeru Miyamoto (creator of the Mario Bros and Zelda games) fancied Kirby to be yellow. While pink prevailed, the yellow variant has appeared in several of Kirby's games.
Thanks to Spike for pointing this out.

Red Kirby |
When Kirby absorbed a fire enemy, he turned red.
Blue Kirby |
When Kirby absorbed an ice enemy, he turned blue.

Items |
Star Rod |
"Legends told that the Dream Spring was created by a magical artifact known as the Star Rod. The sparkling star on the tip of this scepter was an actual fragment of a star that had landed in Dream Land in the distant past. The Star Rod now provided energy to the Dream Spring and served as the very symbol of Dream Land." (Kirby's Adventure [NES] instruction booklet)
