Playable Characters |
Donkey Kong |
|
Donkey Kong first appeared in 1981 in the original arcade game Donkey Kong, where he was one of Mario's earliest rivals. Donkey Kong is currently retired from kidnapping young ladies and instead has settled to jam with his groovy Kong pals.

Items |
Barrel |
|
Donkey Kong first used barrels in the original arcade game Donkey Kong (1981), in which he use these items to obstruct Mario's path. Barrels played a more dynamic role in the Donkey Kong Country series (SNES), in which the items were used to defeat enemies, open secret doors, or find a team member (in specially marked DK barrels). Donkey Kong enters each match through a DK barrel.

Crate |
|
Featured in the Donkey Kong Country series (SNES), Donkey Kong used crates to defeat enemies, open secret doors, or find a special animal friend.
|
Hammer |

Featured in the game Donkey Kong (Arcade 1981), this was one of Mario's most powerful weapons that allowed him to pummel his way through enemies.
