In order to unlock a secret character, you must complete the given specification and then fight against that character.

|
In the 1P Game, choose a character and finish the game in under 15 minutes.
|

| Jigglypuff |
|
In the 1P Game, choose a character and defeat the game in any way you choose.
|
|
| Luigi |
|
Complete the Bonus Stage 1 (Break the Targets) for the original 8 characters.
|
|
| Ness |
|
In the 1P Game, choose a character and defeat the game with 3 stocks with normal difficulty.
|
|
| Unlock Stages |

|
First, defeat the game with all of the original 8 characters with 3 stocks under normal difficulty. Then enter each multiplayer stage at least once.

|
After you have all of the 12 characters, complete each their Bonus Stage 1 and 2. More info can be found here.

| Item Switch |

Play up to a total of 100 multiplayer matches. More info can be found here.

To change the color of your character, use either of the  buttons [ ,  ,  , or  ].
|

| Mew |
|
To get Mew, you need to have unlocked all the characters, menus, and the single secret arena. Then Mew will randomly appear from a Poke Ball. Mew doesn't really do anything, but it does give you points in the 1P Game.
