MCINNERY
He wasn't created to break protocol either. You can't control the human mind for long, agent. That's what I said at the last board meeting, and I say it again. You can't control the human mind.
AGENT
It appears you've been proven correct.
MCINNERY
It appears so...
FADE TO:
INT. A BOOKSTORE- AFTERNOON
The Assassin lays on the floor, his dead eyes staring at the ceiling.
Lobo stands above him, winding a bandage around his hand. He finishes up, tucks the berretta in the back of his pants and walks out of the store.
CUT TO:
INT. THE HITMAN'S HOTEL ROOM- AFTERNOON
The Hitman sits in his hotel, bandaging his side. Lobo's Glock lays unassembled on the bedside table. The TV is on, a newscaster reading from his notes.
NEWSCASTER
-taxi driven through the front of a gun store, knocking out the driver before a 'scarred gunman' emerged from the taxi and killed the owner-
The Hitman's thoughts drown out the narration.
HITMAN (V. O.)
Lobo... a perpetual thorn in my side. His presence will hamper my campaign against the Agency. I can't allow that to happen... but for the moment, he can wait. There's little chance he'll be able to find me in this city. Until then, I'll need to find out more about the Agency... I'll also need help... help I'd rather not require...
CUT TO:
EXT. THE ROOFTOPS- NIGHT
NAS'S 'THE MESSAGE' plays as we watch the Hitman walk on the roof of a building overlooking a high rise. He stops at the ledge, takes out some binoculars and looks through them.
HITMAN'S POV
The high rise has three doors perceivable, with a burly doorman standing near them.
HITMAN (V. O.)
One method of entry... sensible. It'll be a feat to get in there and out again in one piece.
The doorman yawns.
HITMAN (V. O.)
But not impossible.
The VIEW MOVES to the side of the building and back again.
HITMAN (V. O.)
The building has glass walls... that means the agency itself must be underground. Security must be on high alert by now, maybe even locked down.
A man walks up to the doors but the doorman walks in his way. A silent conversation ensues with the doorman waving away the newcomer.
HITMAN (V. O.)
Definitely on lock-down.
The doorman looks at his watch.
EXT. THE ROOFTOPS- NIGHT
The Hitman looks at his own watch. It is 10:59. He looks back through the binoculars.
HITMAN'S POV
The doorman takes out a card from his pocket and swipes it on a keypad next to the doors. He keys in a number quickly.
HITMAN (V. O.)
1... 5... 7... 3... 4... 8... 3...
