The Hitman FIRES.
McInnery SLIPS on the mud, miraculously saving him. He FIRES as he lands.
From the Hitman's chest, a PUFF of BLOOD can be seen, as the armor-piercing bullet penetrates his kevlar. The bullet sends him down, absolute incongruity splashed across his face. He lays in the sodden soil, splashed with mud.
McInnery LAUGHS loudly, smiling at his achievement.
The Hitman GLARES at his wound, before his eyes slowly move upward, piercing McInnery.
McInnery stops laughing, and struggles to get on his feet, his feet slipping once more in the mud that saved him.
The Hitman raises his arm, rain STREAMING off the barrel of his desert eagle. He FIRES.
McInnery's stomach PUFFS as the bullet passes through. He HOWLS in pain and falls back into the mud, his rifle flying from his hands.
The Hitman stands, with some trouble, his white shirt stained red.
McInnery looks over at his Colt Commando.
The Hitman starts to walk, his feet DRAGGING, toward McInnery.
McInnery grasps desperately toward the rifle, dragging himself along by the fingers. He glances back.
The Hitman raises his gun once more, aiming straight at McInnery.
McInnery's hands grasp his rifle, and he quickly turns and FIRES, SHOUTING as he does so.
The Hitman has disappeared.
McInnery BREATHES OUT in relief, resting his head back. He sits up to touch his wound and winces as the crippling pain hits him once more.
Suddenly we can hear the Hitman's voice:
HITMAN
Not long for you now...
McInnery whirls around while staying on the ground, pointing his rifle at the crouching Hitman. He grabs the rifle barrel and wrenches it from his hands, tossing it away, out of sight.
McInnery lies back, disarmed and harmless. He glances at the Hitman's bloodied shirt.
MCINNERY
Neither do you.
The Hitman nods.
HITMAN
Not long for either of you.
MCINNERY
I heard you the first time.
The Hitman takes out a remote detonator.
MCINNERY
Oh shit.
HITMAN
Here's to fallen angels.
He presses the button.
CUT TO:
INT. THE INNER SANCTUM- NIGHT
A singular C4 pack EXPLODES, IGNITING the gas.
EXT. AN OVERHEAD VIEW OF THE AGENCY- NIGHT
The Agency building RUMBLES before the whole formation of the building seems to SCREAM as the lower floors explode. The CONCRETE sidewalk CRACKS and MOVES like LIQUID, SHAKING the entire structure.
The AGENCY COLLAPSES, GLASS SHATTERING, SECTIONS ERUPTING IN FLAME.
Finally, there is only the faint sound of FIRE SIRENS.
EXT. THE STACKS OF CARS- NIGHT
Lobo SNAPS a clip into his Glock, SNIFFING in contempt at the collapsed Agency building. He moves off.
McInnery glares at the Hitman.
MCINNERY
You think that will solve anything? Please... you must realize that you're doing nothing more than attacking one Agency. ONE Agency. You have a lot to learn, 47. Too bad you won't live long enough to learn it.
