Weapons and Ammunition (cont...)
Found in the level:
Berretta 92 (unsuppressed)
The 15 round clip makes up for any lack of stopping power. One round to
the head will pacify your target, but the body will take as many as six and
if you only hit the extremities it can take up to twelve. The Berretta 92 is
standard issue sidearm for all but one of the 18 guards found throughout the
level.
Magnum Research Desert Eagle .50
The most powerful hand gun available in the level, two rounds center mass
will usually take down your target. Only a seven round clip, but a small
sacrifice to pay for the amount of firepower provided. It's found left on a
desk in the study, and also carried by the Don's son (yellow shirt) and Vito
Anguillo (pony tail, white shirt).
Colt Python:
In the real world revolvers are held in esteem for there reliability.
Fortunately, reliability is of no concern in the Hitman world. Also
because of its decreased size by loss in length of the barrel, the Colt Python
should be lighter and less effective at long ranges. Again, size and weight
are of no concern, and I found the Colt Python no less effective at long
ranges than the other handguns available. Only the Don himself carries
this weapon.
Blaser R93:
The only sniper rifle found in the level. If you want excellent stopping
power and unsurpassed range, this is your firearm. Unlike in Codename 47,
the Hitman now can move at walking speed while looking down the scope. You can find
the Blaser inside the garage carelessly leaned against the north wall.
Double-barreled Shotgun:
Like the Blaser sniper rifle this weapon is not able to be concealed. It
also shares the stopping power of the Blaser. When two hits usually pacify
your target (one will do it if you hit the head or body), the two round clip
is understandable. A ranged weapon, because of the shrapnel nature of a
shotgun, which mean that the shot will scatter over a larger area the farther
you are from the target. It would be unwise to underestimate the effective striking range of this
weapon (when you're carrying it or when the enemy is pointing it at you) - it's
a lot farther than you probably think. Only two people carry the
double-barreled shotgun: a guard at the front doors and the lawyer (blue suit).
Kitchen Knife:
Your only means to slit a throat in the level. Remember to stand directly
behind your target or you might have to attempt to hack your opponent apart,
a course of action not at all recommended. Despite being a super human clone
with many years of training for a profession that evolves killing people, 47
is no knife fighter. It may take as little as eight or as many as twenty hits
to pacify your target. If found in the unfortunate position where the kitchen
knife is your only weapon against more than one armed attacker, It would be
highly recommended to run away and find other means of attack. The kitchen
knife is found in the cook's hand and lying on a counter in the kitchen.
Golf Club:
Feel like bludgeoning an unarmed opponent? This is your weapon. Slightly
more powerful than the kitchen knife in a melee. The Don will drop the one
he is practicing his swing with when he leaves the balcony adjacent to the
boss bedroom, which is also another location where you will find a golf club,
leaned up against a chair on the left of the bed.
Ammuntion:
Pistol Ammo
Works with the Berretta 92 (unsuppressed and suppressed). You start with
105 rounds. Boxes of pistol ammo contain 24 cartridges. Two boxes of pistol
ammo can be found in the study, one box can be found in the upstairs
dining room. Two more boxes can be found in the boss' office.
Magnum Ammo
Works with the Magnum Research Desert Eagle .50 and the Colt Python.
You don't start with any of this type of ammo because you don't start with
any weapons that use this ammo. Boxes contain ten cartridges. You can find one
box in the study and two boxes in the upstairs dining room.
Shotgun Ammo
Works with the double-barreled shotgun.
You don't start with any of this type of ammo because you don't start
with any weapons that use this ammo. Boxes contain ten shells. You can find two
boxes in the study, ten boxes in a room next to the room that the three guards
are in, and two boxes in the upstairs dining room.
Sniper Ammo
Works with the Blaser R93.
You don't start with any of this type of ammo, because you don't start with
any weapons that use this ammo. Clips contain ten cartridges. You may find five
clips in the lawyer's office and seven clips in the room with the three guards.
