Instructions
For Installation
|
These instructions
are for all downloads featured for Waterloo: Napoleon's Last Battle,
whether they are full battle packs or scenarios. There is only one
way to install these files at the current time. Note:
There are new changes in the way you have to install, vs the installation
method for Sid Meier's Gettysburg or Antietam.
Battle
Packs (Maps)
- Download the
file and open it up. You will need WinZip
to do so.
- Unzip the files
into any file (in Windows Explorer) and look at each file that was
included in the Zip file. Now, go to the Waterloo: Napoleon's Last
Battle file directory (default is c:\program files\strategy first\waterloo
- napoleons last battle) If you need assistance on how to unzip, please
read here
- You need to keep
a spare copy of each of the files you will be replacing. What I do,
is to create a new folder in Windows Explorer in the "Waterloo
Folder" and label it "Downloads". There, keep a backup
copy of the original game files. Now, look at all of the files that
come with the downloaded battle pack. Make copies of each one. Scenarios
are kept in the scenario folder, artwork is located in the Graphics
folder... it's all pretty much straightforward. The downloads will
have a "readme" file located that will tell you how to install
it.
- If you need help,
contact the administrator.
Scenarios
- Download the
file and open it up. You will need WinZip
to do so.
- Unzip the files

included in the Zip file. Now, go to the Waterloo: Napoleon's Last
Battle file directory (default is c:\program files\strategy first\waterloo

read here
- Open the folder
titled "Scenarios". Backup a copy of each file you will
be replacing. Ex:: If the scenario is Water64.scn, save a spare copy
of Water64.scn somewhere else.
- Add the contents
of the Zip file (in step 2) into the scenario folder in the Waterloo:
Napoleon's Last Battle Directory
When you boot

place. If this still doesn't work, please
