Instructions
For Installation
|
These instructions
are for all downloads featured for Sid Meier's Antietam, whether
they are full battle packs or scenarios. There are two ways to install
these downloads, and for all purposes, there is manual (not reccomended),
and automatic (reccomended).
Automatic
Larry Hookins,
of the Sid
Meier's Gettysburg Annex has created an auto-installer called
the "Sid Meier's Antietam File Utility". Since the detailed
instructions and explantions can be read
at his site, I will only explain a little. This utility will
allow you to switch files without deleting or overwriting, which
at times, leads to an accident. It's a safe and easy way to switch
files. If you can't figure it out, give me a buzz at mmorelli@strategyplanet.com
Manual
If the file
utility just does not work at all, and you don't feel like e-mailing
me for further assistance, I'll tell you how to manually install
the files.
- Download the
file and open it up. You will need WinZip
to do so.
- Unzip the files
into any file (in Windows Explorer) and look at each file that was
included in the Zip file. Now, go to the Sid Meier's Antietam file
directory (default it c:\program files\firaxis games\sid meier's antietam)
If you need assistance on how to unzip, please read here
-
Back
up a copy of each file (you will be replacing. IE: If the scenario
is antie24.scn, save a spare copy of antie24.scn somewhere else.
- Add the contents
of the Zip file (in step 2) into your Sid Meier's Antietam folder.
When you boot
Sid Meier's Antietam/South Mountain up, everything should be in
place. If this still doesn't work, please
contact me.
