Lord
Biles' Realm
Captain Derek Starkiller:
Lord... Bile? Why Bile?
Lord Bile:
When I was 16 years old, that was the name of one of my favorite bands
Captain Derek Starkiller::
rock?
Lord Bile:
still is, i should add
Lord Bile:
metal
Captain Derek Starkiller:
excellent
Captain Derek Starkiller:
Where do you place tour character wihtin the SFC universe?
Lord Bile:
what do you mean "character"?
Derek:
I guess I should say, "Do you ever get into a character within
the game?
Placing yourself into it."
Lord Bile:
Not any character in particular, but I usually assume an alter ego,
Like "Capt Krull", who happens to be fairly kamikaze like.
Very, very aggressive doesn't care whether he lives or dies when in
battle
Derek:
What race?
Lord Bile:
federation
Derek:
era?
Lord Bile:
TMP
Derek:
kewl...
Lord Bile:
no wait
Lord Bile:
TNG
Lord Bile:
sorry
Derek:
I put myself in the Late TMP Era... pre-dominion war
Derek:
wormholes not really active yet
Lord Bile:
wormholes are cool
Derek:
Tell me about the Bilorians... if you don't mind...?
Lord Bile:
not at all
Lord Bile says:
they are a very aggressive reptilian like race, who are the way they
are because of the harsh conditions of their homeworld, as they evolved,
they had to battle much larger reptiles in order to survive
Derek:
Gorn like?
Lord Bile says:
no
Lord Bile says:
not Gorn like
Lord Bile says:
they have a partial exoskeleton
Derek:
very kewl!
Lord Bile says:
which makes them extremely tough to battle hand to hand, similar to
the Gorn in strength, but they have a much different appearance
Derek:
warm or cold blooded?
Lord Bile says:
I have all this on documents that will be included in the download of
the race
Lord Bile says:
warm blooded
Lord Bile says:
that happened through evolution
Derek:
How long have they been a space faring race... how far back have you
gone with their history?
Lord Bile says:
well, as far as how long they have been space fairing, its been at least
1000 years, it took the first wave a couple hundred years to get to
our galaxy...then they constructed a main wormhole gate when they arrived,
linking the 2 galaxies
Derek:
Where did they first arrive in Alpha Quadrant?
Lord Bile says:
on the farthest edge of the alpha quadrant, the farthest edge away from
federation headquarters, it is a very secluded area, few patrols
Derek:
cool...
Derek:
Is this a "mod" or a series of textures and models? Easy installation?
Available for public?
Lord Bile says:
well, I haven't decided if it will a "mod" yet. but so far
I have 4 vessels, and 2 structures, along with some race info, and 2
new sounds
Lord Bile says:
download will be available soon
Derek:
excellent.
Derek:
How do feel about the SFC community? With the release of SFC2, many
new faces are showing up!
Lord Bile says:
I think it is great, the more modelers the better, It is adding more
and more great ships and races to an excellent game, as for sfc2, I
haven't had much of a chance to play it, my computer cant handle, it,
but I will have a new one next week
Derek:
Very kewl! What are you getting?
Lord Bile says:
I am getting one built, a p-3 933 Mhz with 245 mb of ram upgradeable
to over 700 mb.
Lord Bile says:
256 I mean
Lord Bile says:
lol
Derek:
what video?
Lord Bile says:
it is coming with a ATI Radeon 32 mb 4x, but I will be upgrading that
soon
Derek:
nice.
Derek:
What are you r plans as far as modeling goes? You have the plug-in working?
Lord Bile says:
Well, I have the plug in and 3d StudioMax now, But I am hoping that
Pneumonic81 will be gracious enough to help me learn how to use it
Derek:
sweet!
Lord Bile says:
then I will help the other modelers learn it
Derek:
I love the way the new models appear with the illumination maps. Delekhan's
Romulans illuminated, are one of my recent acquisitions. Are you planning
on "lighting" your current collection of models, or new ones?
Lord Bile says:
i will be illuminating my new race and my newest models, but I don't
plan on re-doing all my models, just my best
Lord Bile says:
probably the ones from the last 3 months
Lord Bile says:
since I got uview
Derek:
which model is your favorite of yours? of the community's?
Lord Bile says:
My favorite has to still be the Conquestor, that has got to be one of
my very best (imo) as for the community, I'd rather not say, I don't
want to ruffle any feathers
Derek:
Ruffle feathers? In this community?
Lord Bile says:
lol
Lord Bile says:
I'm trying not to do that anymore
Derek:
Are you a Trekkie?
Lord Bile says:
Id have to say yes
Lord Bile says:
but I don't go around wearing a uniform or carrying a communicator shaped
cell phone
Derek:
cool, when was your last convention?
Lord Bile says:
never been to one
Lord Bile says:
well, i take that back
Lord Bile says:
I went to one when I was about 10, and met Sir William Shatner
Derek:
Heheheh, did you think it was a toupee?
Lord Bile says:
I knew it was, Because he wasn't wearing one!! lol
Derek:
Wow...
Derek:
Do you play a specific ERA then when you play SFC?
Lord Bile says:
I always play late, which in my game, is TNG
Lord Bile says:
I have them broke up on the spec file
Lord Bile says:
early is TOS, mid is TMP, and late is TNG
Derek:
very kewl... do you have that spec file available for download?
Lord Bile says:
no way, that took a lot of hours from me, and I think the best way to
learn is to do it on your own...no offense anyone
Derek:
heheheh, no problem!
Derek:
How do you feel about Universal Specs then?
Lord Bile says:
I think it is a very good idea when playing online with strangers...but
when I am playing with friends of mine, anything goes
Derek:
heheh, cool.
Derek:
What inspires you to model?
Lord Bile says:
Well, I wouldn't say anything in particular, but I like to think to
myself, that someday Paramount will some of the work that some of us
are doing and offer us jobs (just a dream)
Lord Bile says:
I just think its very fun also
Derek:
good plan, nice dream
Derek:
got to have fun, imo, too
Derek:
Would you rather play SFC on a console system?
Lord Bile says:
that would be , NO.
Derek:
why?
Lord Bile says:
I just prefer being able to modify my game to no end, I haven't seen
a console system that can do that yet
Derek:
good answer
Derek:
What program do you use to texture?
Lord Bile says:
Paintshop Pro 7
Lord Bile says:
apply then in UView
Derek:
kewl
Derek:
Weapons textures? Have you changed them or modified other aspects in
the game besides the models?
Lord Bile says:
I have created a couple sounds here and there, and if you ever look
a t any of my screenshots, you can see the shield texture I did, Very
dark, almost invisible, but you can still see what your shields are
looking like, but allows the model to stand out more
Derek:
That was created for SFC1, right?
Lord Bile says:
yes
Derek:
you made that?!
Lord Bile says:
yes
Derek:
did you ever have it for download?
Lord Bile says:
no, not yet
Derek:
hmm... ok. Maybe you sent it to me when I was back at SFB2SFC, but I
am using an "invisible shields" texture... I love it! Still
barely see it... will you have any of this available for download?
Lord Bile says:
I will soon, but I cant say more than that
Lord Bile says:
There a lot of things brewing that I cant say much about
Derek:
Oh? Man... how unfair
Derek:
waaah...
Lord Bile says:
sorry man, I promised
Derek:
I wont bother you anymore on that then...
Derek:
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Lord Bile says:
Just this...I hope everyone out there making new races keeps it up,
and don't let this be a fad, keep it going, maybe Taldren will contact
you about it!!!!!
Derek:
Good advice, man... thanks!
Be sure to visit Realm of
LB where you can find several new models for your downloading pleasure.
You can also find out more about the B'lorians, and hopefully, about
that big secret ;)
