Baby Update (9912.15)
Sometimes I feel like a frickin' idiot. I fubar'ed my Photon Torpedo damage stats. For some reason, my four year-old decided to play with Daddy's Starfleet Command Weapon Tables and Damage Chart Thing(tm). You know, that invaluable little cardboard thing that comes in the box? I love that thing! Unfortunately, in his exuberance, my precious offspring LOST it. Well, anyway, long story short, I had to do it from memory and wasn't thinking too well, as I used Disruptor damage figures rather than Photon damage figures (being the hardcore Klingon I am). So, I fixed that and hereby apologize for the screwup. In addition, there's a little Proximity Warhead commentary which was submitted by a loyal reader. So, beam back over to Section 7 for the updated info!
Back in the Saddle (9912.14)
Okay, I've sorta recovered from my core dump (meaning my computer core took a... well, you know). There's a new section hereabouts, which deals with the Federation and their nifty little item of uniqueness, the photon torpedo. Also, Section 6 and Section 4 have been updated with new info, thanks to those studly experts out there who keep me on track. Anyway, it's good to be back, and I hope you learn something today!
Also, as mentioned in Section 7, I'm inviting everyone to ask questions to be answered in the next installment. If you haven't been able to find an answer to a nagging question, or if you want to see a specific area covered, please let me know. I only ask that SFB veterans take it easy on me regarding rule conversions and stuff like that. I probably can get an answer from someone higher up, but try to be gentle with me. I once got an email asking me about rule 147x.57, paragraph 4b, section 7, subsection 32a, which specifically states yada yada yada. No, it's not a real rule; I'm paraphrasing of course. I'm clueless about this kind of stuff, so please try to go into as much detail as possible so I don't sound like a total nimrod when asking the big guys if it's in the game. Plus, all of those numbers just freak me out. Anyway, I look forward to whatever you throw at me. Also, if you have a snazzy tactic to share with the group, don't hesitate to send it my way! The next installment will be a really informal, stream-of-consciousness thing where anything is possible. It'll be a real hootenanny! Be there!
Disaster on the USS Keeg! (9912.10)
By the Great Bird, it has been an awful week! My machine totally crashed because of some incredibly stupid thing I did (which any geek worth his or her salt would banish me for), and it's taken me three days to get the (expletive deleted) thing working again. I've gotten a tremendous amount of email lately, but, of course (as is my luck), I can't send email from work, and until now couldn't send it from home either. Anyway, there is a lot of new info people have been sending me, and I will cover it all, but I'm going to need a couple of days to reinstall all of the junk that got lost when I reinstalled Windows (don't EVEN get me started). So, things might be a little scarce over the weekend, and stuff will kinda trickle after that, since we're having a big "week before Christmas" Gala with my son. After that, however, you plebes are MINE! I'll try and expedite this as much as I can, so please bear with me. Thankx!
Secondary Systems (9912.06)
Basically, this includes stuff that doesn't fit into any other category; tractors, transporters, sensors, probes, and the unforgettable map. Sure, you know you have them, but do you really know what to do with them? Find out now!
Also, Part 3 has been updated with a litte commentary on Sabre Dancing, Shield Regeneration, and depressed Klingons. Take a look!
Maneuvering Tactics (9912.05)
This is a big update day. I've completed section 5, dealing with maneuvering tactics, and have also clarified some disputes with stuff I've previously posted. Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4,have all been updated with the new data, including final word from Erik Bethke regarding the apparent superiority of Klingon marines. Also, I've hopefully cleared up the widespread confusion regarding my comments on shield regeneration, wild weasels, and allied missile defense. Curious? Check them out!
