- Many folks (me included :) claim
for teamplay in Z:SS, and hopes are high due to the excellent
commitment of the company to its customers (three patches
in four weeks). Something that makes most people curious
is exactly how that manual screenshot shows a team column
in the multiplayer menu if it never got to work? Any secret
story around that?
Mike
- Teamplay in multiplayer was always on the to-do list,
but we just never had chance to implement it. Because it
was always on the cards there was a team column in the setup
screen for a long time, but it never actually did anything!
The good news is that we have teamplay working and it should
be included in a future update. We've just got to look at
the implications for AI players, and changing the multiplayer
game rules to take teams into account.
MaD
- In Z Expansion, Teamplay was implemented through "allegiances",
which enabled players to establish and break teams on the
fly. How do you intend to implement teamplay in Z:SS, through
teams or allegiances?
Mike
- You'll set up your teams in the setup screen, and they'll
be fixed for the duration of the game. You'll be able to
see your teammates, and you'll be sharing your line of sight
with them too. In other words, you'll be able to see what
they see.
