Strategies
While Mario is just an average character, he does have a few decent fighting techniques as well as a variety of reliable attacks. When you're on the ground, you may want to use the Punch, Punch, Kick Combo and the Spin Kick often. When in the air, the Flip Kick is quite fast to use, but may be a bit weak compared to his other attacks. His Sideways Kick and his Reverse Flying Kick are always great alternatives.
VS Mario
When playing against Mario, you need to watch for a few things. First, he will almost always use his Fireball if their is some distance between the two of you. Next, you'll learn that Mario has a tendency to use its Jumping Uppercut during most situations. So if you are airborne and he is below you, be ready for that attack. Another attack you should watch out for is his Headbutt. He usually counters your smash attacks with this, and more than likely it will be effective. Other than that, you should have any problems with this average character.
Bonus Stage 1

  1. Shoot a Fireball.
  2. Face right and shoot another Fireball.
  3. Jump once and do a Midair Kick to hit the target; then jump again and finally perform your third jump (the Jumping Uppercut) and land on farthest right-hand side ledge.
  4. Shoot a Fireball down to that target.
  5. Jump on the ledge (while it is at its lowest) with your Jumping Uppercut hitting that target...
  6. ...with some practice, shoot a Fireball at that target...
  7. ...and shoot another Fireball at this target.
  8. Now jump and get on the highest ledge (the one situated close to the center of the screen) on the screen; once you're on that ledge jump again toward this target and perform a Midair Kick and continue falling...
  9. ...hitting this target again with a Midair Kick...
  10. ...and still falling, get to the underside of the last target and perform a Jumping Uppercut.
Bonus Stage 2

  1. Run and jump on the first platform.
  2. Then jump on the next platform.
  3. And once again, jump on the third platform.
  4. If you went through the first three pretty fast, then this next platform should be ready for you to jump on. But be careful, the platforms go away fast. Also, once you jump on the first platform, then the next one will be ready for you to jump on...
  5. ...quickly jump on this one...
  6. ...and finally this one.
  7. Move down from that platform, and move across until you get to the next platform.
  8. From here, let yourself off this first ledge (don't jump), jump once, and finally perform your third jump.
If you choose a character with only two jumps, then fall off the ledge again, and jump up, watching the platform above you. After that, then jump down to the platform.
  9. From there, jump to the first blue ledge and then hit the next platform.
  10. From there, jump the rest of the three ledges and hit the final platform.
