Here you can play multiplayer battles with the computer, a human character(s), or both.
Try to unlock the other four secret characters in the 1P Game.

| Rule |
When playing VS Mode, you will have to decide how you want to play:
- Time
- a timed free-for-all battle; the winner is the player with the hightest number of knock-offs (KOs) after subtracting the total number of time that the player was knocked off (TKO)
- Stock
- a free-for-all battle in which all contestants have a limited stock of life; the last player standing is the winner
- Team Time
- a timed team battle
- Team Stock
- a team battle in which all contestants have a limited stock of life

Here you can find more customizable options for your VS battle.
- Handicap
- turn the handicap for players (human) ON or OFF, or set it to AUTO to have it determinded by the computer (it is determined by whether you win a match or not; if you win, your handicap is +1, and if you lose it is -1); change the actual handicap setting on the player select screen; the higher an opponent's handicap, the easier it is to knock him off
- Team Attak
- choose whether or not team members can be hit by one another's attacks in team battles
- Stage Select
- set to ON to select the battle stage yourself or OFF to have the computer randomly select one for you
- Damage
- set the damage rate for attacks; at 50%, everyone is as heavy as metal (perhaps more)
- Item Switch
- this is a secret option, so check our secrets page to see how to unlock this option; here you can which items appear, how often they appear, and you can choose not to have any items at all
