Containers

Box like objects that usually hold about 3 items. They can be broken open by force or just thrown open. Donkey Kong is the only character that can carry around this item.
Counter
Some crates may contain explosives.
Capsule

Description
Small, pill-liked shape that gives about one item. Everybody can hold this item and it can be broken by physical attacks or throwing the capsule.
Counter
Some capsules may contain explosives.
Barrel
Damage none
Ammo none
Recovery none
Description
Similar to crates, they can hold up to three items. When thrown, the crate roles across the screen until hit by somebody or something until it hits a wall. Again, only Donkey Kong can carry around this item.
Counter
Some barrels may contain explosives.
Egg
Damage none
Ammo none
Recovery none
Description
Thrown in the game by the Pokémon Chansey, this item serves the same function as the capsule.
Counter
Some eggs may contain explosives.
Clobbering Items
Beam Sword
Damage 9-12 Smash: 19-25
Click here for an additional pic.
Ammo none
Recovery none
Description
One of the best items in the game, this sword can be used to attack your opponents from a distance.
Counter
Use projectiles against the user of this weapon. Also, you need to be careful the enemy doesn't throw this item because this item has the longest throwing range.
Hammer
Damage 30
Click here for an additional pic.
Ammo none
Recovery none
Description
This clobbering weapon is the cheapest of all weapons. But nothing is totally perfect. While a person has a hammer, he/she can only do a single jump. So if they’re knocked off the edge of a coarse, they fly to their doom. They can’t even drop their item for a last ditch effort. Now let's see who has the last laugh.
Counter
Although hard to pull off, you can either grab (if you are Yoshi, Link, or Samus by their extended grabbing capabilities), or you could try to hit them when the hammer is up (be warned, I haven’t tried this yet). Also, Kirby and Yoshi can perform their rock drop attack to knock out the hammer yielder.
Home Run Bat
Damage 6-7 Smash: One-hit KO
Click here for an additional pic.
Ammo none
Recovery none
Description
A little bit weaker than the Beam Sword, the Home Run Bat has one incredible power. Using its smash attack, it can take out any opponent in one hit (even at 0% damage!). Although it has such a power, it takes a while for it to hit.
Counter
If your opponent is trying to do the smash attack, just move out of the way (don’t go directly behind and touching your opponent, cause it’ll still hit you).
Paper Fan
Damage 2 Smash: 6-8
Click here for an additional pic.
Ammo none
Recovery none
Description
Although a very weak item, it has one supreme use. It can break your opponent’s shield with a smash attack (or get close enough to breaking it anyway). But it isn’t very strong overall a weak weapon.
Counter
Don’t block; try jumping and doing air attacks.
Throwing Items
Motion Sensor Mine
Damage 30
Click here for an additional pic.
Ammo none
Recovery none
Description
A very tricky weapon, you throw the mine and with a click, it activates. The mine, however, will blow toward any person, even the one who planted it.
Counter
Try to remember the location of were you put it, and don’t step in it. If you didn’t lay it, listen for a click, then be alert.
Bob-omb
Damage 30-40
Click here for an additional pic.
Ammo none
Recovery none
Description
A classical item from the Mario sagas, most of you already know the deadly powers of this little fellow. When he first appears, he is a pick able item. But after a while, it starts walking around.
Counter
Jump out of the way if it is being thrown at you (duh). If someone else is carrying the Bob-omb, it is possible for you to knock if out of their hands if you hit them (it works it works especially well with physical attacks, but I would recommend a projectile). If it is on the ground, shoot it somehow from a distance.
Bumper
Damage 1
Click here for an additional pic.
Ammo none
Recovery none
Description
The bumper is basically an annoying item if you are hit with it while it is on the ground. But it can do some amazing things. Check the Fun Stuff for more info.
Counter
Don’t touch it and stay clear in case someone bumps it to you.
Red Shell
Damage 8
Click here for an additional pic.
Ammo none
Recovery none
Description
Another classic, this item (when thrown) will move around on the ground and toward the closest person. It eventually disappears.
Counter
Stay clear of the ground.
Green Shell
Damage 27
Click here for an additional pic.
Ammo none
Recovery none
Description
Like the Red Shell except it does more damage and does not move back and forth on the platform. You throw it and watch it go (hopefully hit your opponent).
Counter
Dodge the shell when thrown.
Poké Ball
Damage Varies Click to see Pokémon list
Click here for an additional pic.
Ammo none
Recovery none
Description
The Poke Ball is a great item when released. The Pokémon that is released becomes your ally and attacks your opponents without damaging you (well most do, not all). But not all Pokémon attack.
Counter
Just avoid them.
Projectile Items
Ray Gun
Damage 8 per shot
Click here for an additional pic.
Ammo 16 shots
Recovery none
Description
A very strong blaster that has the ability to juggle your opponent by shooting in a certain manner. I have only done this once.
Counter
Just jump away and take cover; keep in mind that the blaster is not effective at very close combat.
Fire Flower
Damage 16-18 per puff 177 max
Click here for an additional pic.
Ammo 10 puffs
Recovery none
Description
The Fire Flower really packs the heat. If you get a good lock on your opponent, you could get up to 177% damage on them.
Counter
Do not try to get close; once the fire is on you, it is hard to get away. Jump out of the way and attack a distance (if possible).
Star Rod
Damage Star: 8-10 Clobbering smash: 26-29
Click here for an additional pic.
Ammo 20 stars
Recovery none
Description
The Star Rod really packs a punch if the smash technique is used toward an enemy next to you. It does a two hit combo, one from the star projectile and one from the rod itself. To shoot the projectile, press + (strongly recommended) or .
Counter
Try attacking from the air.
Power-UPS Items
Maxim Tomato

Click here for an additional pic.

Counter
none
