SoaH City Message Board Rules
Please, read through the rules!
Welcome to the SoaH City forums. We're a group of fans that grew up playing Sonic the Hedgehog games back on the Genises/Mega Drive or started playing the 3D adventures. Our discussion board is open for conversations much more than Sonic. We're peaceful and always open for constructive ideas to improve our city. We're geared toward a teen audience, so we don't mind mild swearing and blood. However, with all of that said, we do have some guidelines for members to follow. It's a short ready and as long as you're nice and constructive with your opinions, you should be fine.

1. Be thoughtful and creative with your posts since no spamming is allowed in any of the forums except the Lost World (and don't go crazy there either). By spamming, we mean posting messages with annoying, stupid, image filled, and/or useless or little content to them. Also, you may not post things like, "in before the lock" and "free post." What is considered spam will be decided by the staff and the community.

2. No flaming, harassing, bashing, trolling, or threatening other members, including staff and the board itself. Again, please help us make this a great place and use constructive criticism.

3. No stealing artwork and/or sprites. This excludes using base art from games, but not art already altered by other people without permission.

4. No adult materials, such as porn, may be posted. We have zero toleration for sexual role playing (i.e. cybering or dating). We are not a dating/sex site.

5. If images with blood, gore, cussing, etc. are posted, please put a warning in the in the post. Make the image a link by using the URL tag or give a large space in between the warning and the actual image. If you're posting something that could be considered offensive, please warn people about that content as well. Please note that the staff can remove your content if it is too bad.

6. There shall be no hounding or petitions for positions of staff, removal of staff, policy changes, un/banning, etc. through PMs, IMs, signature banners, or other means.

7. Members with large signatures, large images, scripts, flash, etc. will have all or part of their signature removed. Staff may ask members to shorten their sigs in PM, at their option, but the staff does reserve the right to delete all or part of the signature at any time. Adding back a signature of the last one's original size or problem after a staff member deletion will result in a banning. The total size limit is 525 by 325, with up to seven images, and with a combined size total of no more than 75KB. Total characters for a signature must be less than 1,000.

8. Members who post "I'm leaving forever!" threads will have their thread locked. Their account will still be open to allow visits to the web site. Likewise, you cannot post "I've returned from my banning" threads/posts either.

9. No misleading or spoiling subjects or headlines as well as posting spoilers inside messages without warning (exception is in the Lost World).

10. We don't mind if some posts in a thread get a little off topic as that happens in real life, but we ask that you try to stay on topic, make an on-topic comment with your off-topic reply, or start a new thread. We won't take any action unless it becomes a serious problem.

11. We have limited the usage of fancy font tags and colors in posts. Depending on the skin and web browser a person is user, your text may be unreadable.

12. Member names must be good for a teen audience. Names cannot be longer than 32 characters and it must be broken up if it's that long, but cannot have more than four numbers to it. Names can only contain alphanumerical characters. Staff holds the right to make or request name changes.

13 This rule relates specifically to the Lost World, Carnival Night, and Non-Serious Role-Play forums. Although these forums are for letting loose, do not abuse them. If you are abusing any of those forums by making an excessive amounts of topics, replying over and over to a thread when no one else has replied, etc. you will first be warned. Continue, and then you'll be banned all three of those forums. Staff prunes the forum of topics with no replies to them within four to seven days in the Lost World and only serious or collection threads in these forums will be stuck.

14 At times, the board will hold contests. There will be rules for that contest, so please read and follow them. Not following them can have you removed from the contest and future contests.

As a final note, we generally try to warn people to behave before locking a topic. We do temporary bans at times, sending a private message with details on why they were banned and for how long. We ban forever as a last resort. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to ask the staff via a personal message.
