What is Impossible Creatures about?
Impossible Creatures is a 3-D real-time strategy game that pits the player against an evil madman in a desperate campaign across a chain of remote and diverse islands. Using Earth's most formidable animals as building blocks, the player creates an army of unique, mutant monsters in a struggle to protect an unsuspecting world.
There are a lot of real-time strategy games out there. What is going to make Impossible Creatures stand out?
Alex Garden and Relic Entertainment have already earned the reputation that they can take a game in a known genre and turn that genre "on its ear". Homeworld is the example. What makes Impossible Creatures unique is the fact that you can combine animals to make unique, mutant monsters never seen before. With the ability to interchange multiple body parts, gamers will be able to create over a hundred thousand unique "units." No other RTS game allows you to create your own units.
I have heard talk of biomes. What are they and how many are there?
A "biome" is defined as: "A major regional or global biotic community, such as a grassland or desert, characterized chiefly by the dominant forms of plant life and the prevailing climate." And that is exactly what biomes are in Impossible Creatures, except on a much smaller scale. Impossible Creatures has four different and unique biomes, each one with its own unique flora and fauna. They are, in no particular order, savanna/tropical, arctic, ocean and desert.
How many characters are involved in the Impossible Creatures story line?
Well, we can only name a few here, Rex Chance and Lucy Willing are working together to try and stop the madman Upton Julius and his band of villains from taking over the world.
Does the game come with a mission editor?
Yes, Relic is planning on shipping a mission editor with the game.
What are you planning with the game's multiplayer aspect?
2-4 players can engage in intense battles over the Internet. With the ability to constantly, change and create new armies, you can be assured that playing over the Internet will always be a fresh and exciting experience. What is especially unique is the ability to transfer animal information between the single player campaign and the multiplayer game, so progress in one mode can enhance the experience in another.
