MacMAME Utilities X 1.0
This is a package of utilities to help manage the thousands of files that can accumulate in your MacMAME folders. If you don't know what MacMAME is then you don't need MacMAME Utilities.

MacMAME Grouping Files - Collection of 15!
Starting with MacMAME 0.36b14, you are able to group (sort) ROMs in the frontend by year released and manufacture. You can also use other grouping files such as the Genre file, which groups games by their type (baseball, driving, fighting, etc.). There are 19 different grouping files within this download - simply drop the 19 unzipped/unstuffed files in to the Category folder within MacMAME.

highscore.dat v7
This file when placed in your Misc Support Files folder (in the main MacMAME folder) will add highscore saving and loading information for games that didn't actually have highscore saving and loading in the arcades. The HISCORE.DAT file for MAME/MacMAME, version 7, 1276 supported games, 20th February 2001.

unofficial hiscore.dat v8.2
T his dat file has everything the official highscore.dat file has, plus extra highscore submissions particulary for new mame betas and requested highscores. Link takes you to their downloads page.

cheat.dat
The CHEAT.DAT file (again, place this within the Misc Support Files folder), maintained by Martin Pugh and The Ultimate Patchers. Be sure to download if you are a lousy player, since with this file you can enable cheating in the games. Cheat File statistics:- over 93000 cheat lines for 3788 games!

history.dat v0.77e
This file contains in order the following information: (place in Misc Support Files older)
Game name / Year / Manufacturer
Game ID: (Game identity)
Description (genre / interesting features / etc.)
- TRIVIA: misc. interesting info about the game.
- UPDATES: differences between different versions.
- CODES & SECRETS: all in the title ;).
- SERIES: other games in a serie.
- STAFF: programmers, musicians, designers, ect...
- PORTS: all ported version are listed here.

neogeo.zip - FilePlanet download
This BIOS file is necessary to run any Neo-Geo based ROMs - they won't play without it! Once downloaded, simply place in your ROMs folder, and you'll be Metal Slugging before you can say "aarrgghh, exploding bodies!!". (do not unpack, it needs to remain in .zip format to run)

OpenGL plugin, uses overlay files to create various cool effects. Highly recommended

ROMCMP
Verifies the validity of a ROM dump, can also compare two dumps to see how similar they are. This is NOT necessary to run MacMAME

ROMIDENT
Compares a ROM set with a known database of dumps. This is NOT necessary to run MacMAME
