Page 4 - Home Maintenance

Well, you've left your job, earned some money... It's time to start living the good life. Once you've finished your part-time job, you'll be able to sell fruit, bugs, and a large assortment of diffrent items to Tom Nook to earn some cash, and with that money you can buy furniture to decorate your house amoung other things.

To place furniture in your house, simply pause, select the piece you want, and drop it. You can press A to move it around and rotate it, and B to pick it back up again. You can also purchase wallpaper and carpets to put in your house. You're also able to put up patterns you make as wallpaper, carpeting, or even on your front door. If you have a music player of some sort, you're even able to have music playing in your house which you can get from K.K. Slider at the train station every Saturday night.

Upgrades
Every time you finish paying off a debt to Nook, he offers a upgrade to your house, and a new larger debt to pay it off. Two center floor enlargements, a attic, and a basement will all become available to you during the course of your payments. Nook will also offer to paint your roof for you every time you upgrade.

It's also important to keep in mind that even if you don't feel you need a larger house, as you upgrade your house, Tom Nook upgrades his shop. It continualy gets larger, housing more daily items.

There is one other way to change your house. If you magane to find all 40 insects you'll get a butterfly medallion on your house, and if you can get all 40 fish you'll get a fish medallion on your house. Though it'll probably take you a long time to pull either off.
