Let's create Ms. Point Buy (continued)
Finally we can choose a class for our character. ToEE allows all core classes from the D&D Player's Handbook: Barbarian, Bard, Cleric, Druid, Fighter, Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Sorcerer and Wizard.

Note that several classes are greyed out. Although you don't need certain ability values to play a class, ToEE doesn't allow you to play for example a wizard who is to dumb to cast spells. A spell caster needs at least (10 + Ability Modifier) in the attribute governing his spell-casting abilities (Wizards need high Intelligence, Druids and Clerics need high Wisdom etc.).

After that you choose the character's aligment. As before the game provides us with information about different aligments.

The next step in character creation is very important for clerics, because this is where you choose your character's deity. Every god is associated with several domains like War, Protection etc. and a Cleric of a particular god can choose additional "domain spells" later. The choice of a deity may be important for dialogs and quests, too.

Finally we can choose feats for our character. Every character starts with at least one feat at 1st level, but you can get bonus feats through your choice of class (for example fighter) or race (humans get one additional feat at 1st level).

We are almost done! As you can see this screen shows us all available skills. The character's class skills are shown in white, cross-class skills are shown in gold. Each character gets several skill points to distribute. Class skills cost one skill point per rank, cross-class skills cost two skill points per rank. Note that all bonusses like ability modifier etc. are shown here. ToEE has a very clear layout and all the relevant information is only one click away!

Continue to part 3!
