Round Select & Extra Lives
On the main screen highlight Options. Hold down A+B+C+Right on Controller 2 and then press Start on Controller 1. The Options screen should now have two new options to use; round no. & players (number of lives). The players option allows up to 7 lives per continue.
Extra Continues
On the Game Over screen press Left, Left, B, B, B, C, C, C and then Start. You will be able to continue from where you ran out of continues. I have never go this cheat to work - anyone know if it does?
Play Bare Knuckle
To play Bare Knuckle, the Japanese version of the game, set your emulator version to Japanese (or if you have a modified console, set it to play Japanese carts)
Guide to ending choices
Want to see the Good/Bad Ending? Then you need to make the right choices when talking with Mr. X at the end of Round 8. Notice that even if you're playing as Blaze, Mr. X refers to you as a man...
1 Player:
Well, you found your way here. Would you consider becoming my right-hand man?
"Yes" - You show a lot of potential. Here's your reward. - Fall through trapdoor into Round 6
"No" - You really want to die don't you... I'll be happy to oblige! - Fight with Mr. X (Good Ending)
2 Players:
Well, you found your way here. Would you consider becoming my right-hand man?
"Yes" + "Yes" - You show a lot of potential. Here's your reward. - Fall through trapdoor into Round 6
"No" + "No" - You really want to die don't you... I'll be happy to oblige! - Fight with Mr. X, then Good Ending.
"Yes" + "No" - After working as a team for so long, you part company. Now, a fight to the death! - Fight between players.
To victor of player vs player fight:
You're no ordinary man. It would be a waste to kill you. Why don't you join my organization?
"Yes" - You show a lot of potential. Here's your reward. - Fall through trapdoor into Round 6
"No" - You're an evil man. I would never have expected this from you. Die, traitor! You really want to die don't you... I'll be happy to oblige!- Fight with Mr. X, then Bad Ending.
