The purpose of Sonic Battle X is to provide users with accurate and useful information reguarding the game Sonic Battle. We also encourage other fan sites to provide their users with this information, so most content on this site may be used on your fan sites freely, under a few conditions.
As Sonic Battle X is a fan site, much of the content here may already be copyrighted to companies like Sega or to other individuals who have submitted information. This guide should cover everything on this site you may freely use on your fan site with the conditions specified by the original copyright holders.

Much hard work is put into Sonic Battle X, including the design, the research, and the presentation of the site. For these reasons, Sonic Battle X wishes to protect its rights and DISALLOW COPYING OF THIS SITE COMPLETLY IN ITS ENTIRETY FOR COMMERCIAL AND/OR ARCHIVAL PURPOSES. You may, however, copy its entirety for personal purposes, such as printing to keep a copy of this site in a safe place at your home. You may distribute the copies to others provided the copies are not sold, used illegally, or attributed in any way which suggests that we endorse you or your use of the work. All copies must retain their copyright notices and links to Sonic Battle X.
Copying Game Details
The Game Details page contains factual information about Sonic Battle. With exception to the box art and storyline, factual information, as explained by the U.S. Copyright Office web site, which states:
"Copyright does not protect facts, ideas, systems, or methods of operation, although it may protect the way these things are expressed. See Circular 1, Copyright Basics, section "What Works Are Protected.",
is not protected by copyright, thus, may be copied freely without restrictions.
Using Content Obtained from Wikipedia
Some parts of Sonic Battle X, such as the Storyline section and the character profiles on the Characters page, uses content created by contributors of Wikipedia. This content may be used on your fan site, but you must follow the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL). Using Images (Concept Art, Box Art, Wallpapers, etc)
Most of the images on Sonic Battle X are copyrighted by Sega Co. and are used on this site for informational and noncommercial purposes. Sega Co. allows these images to be used under their Terms & Guidelines found on the SEGA of America, Inc. Media FTP Site:
SEGA’s art assets are made available for media use and reprinting by broadcast, print and online media outlets only. SEGA art assets cannot be used for promotional and commercial purposes for non-SEGA products and/or services. SEGA art assets may be resized; however, the images may not be changed, altered or manipulated in any way that modifies the integrity of the original image. SEGA art assets may not be used in conjunction with any newly created content that is obscene, unlawful, harmful, threatening, harassing, defamatory, libelous, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable. Use of SEGA art assets and information may not violate any copyright, trademark and/or other applicable local, state, national or international laws.
The high-quality versions of the images were obtained from Sonic Art Archive (fan site) since the Sonic Battle images are no longer avaliable on SEGA of America's FTP site, and as a courtesy to Sonic Art Archive, they would appreciate it if you link to their site if you plan on using the high resolution images in full form.
Using Music
The music on this site is used to help promote Sonic Battle and is not sold in any way. We believe our use of the music constitutes fair use. Other uses of the music may be considered copyright infringement. While it is unlikely that Sega will actually take any legal action with Sonic fan sites, according to Shadow of a Hedgehog's FAQ page, we cannot guarantee anything. Using the music on this site is entirely at your own risk.
