FAQ Update
After a bit of a delay, Bandit's Metal Slug 2nd Mission FAQ v0.9 has been updated and added to the Games section.

Numbers
The Magic Box recently posted mid year (that's January~June, for those of you who are morally opposed to math, as we are) sales figures for all systems, the handhelds we've reproduced below. The Neo Geo Pocket comes in at 3rd place among comparable systems with roughly half as many units sold as Bandai's Wonderswan.

Wrestling Date Confirmed
National Console Support confirmed today that Big Bang Pro Wrestling (formerly known as Tournament Pro Wrestling and later, Wrestling Madness) is scheduled for release on September 14. Our Coming Soon section has been updated accordingly. If the gameplay has been tweaked at all over the version shown at E3, this could be one to look forward to.

Fami Coverage
substance J picked up the 7/14 issue of Weekly Famitsu magazine recently at the always well-lit and J Pop-filled Bookstore Kinokuniya. Neo Geo Pocket coverage is moderate, featuring two reviews and an equal number of ad pages. The reviews stack up as follows:

  • King of Fighters Battle de Paradise: 5, 5, 5, 5
  • Rockman Battle & Fighters: 7, 5, 6, 5

The adverts have been scanned and added to the Omake section, though you can check them out by hitting the links below. Mmm, Battle de Paradise...

    Disturbing Images
The Aruze pullout is bad enough, but now insult is added to injury with two new ads further demonstrating how far along SNK Entertainment's release schedule was. The NGPC ad sports US versions Faselei, Last Blade and Dynamite Slugger, while the Nyko ad displays the NGPC Power Worm Light. Both were scanned from the latest issue of EGM. You can check them out below, or in the Omake section.

    We're Back. Again
Well...finally some actual updating taking place. The update below was originally made on July 2nd, but immediately lost in a crash which ended up locking us out of the FTP server until now (thanks a lot, Digiweb...). Well, on to the content...

    Slug 2 FAQ
Bandit's Metal Slug 2 FAQ has once again been updated, so take a look.

    Rockman has landed!
National Console Support has stocked the Japanese version of Rockman Battle & Fighters today, for $40. NCS mentions the packaging "reeks of cost cutting," so it will be interesting to see exactly what the deal is with that.

    sJ's Back - Updates Resume
The Games section has been updated with a Faselei! review by Ruined Luna, a Match of the Millennium review by Bluefour, and a revision of Bandit's Metal Slug: 2nd Mission FAQ. The news of June has been archived as well.

    Ogre Battle Climbs Charts!
As usual, The Magic Box has posted weekly Japanese sales figures, but this time around there's something of note to NGPC fans. The latest software sales chart, covering June 19th ~ June 25th ranks Ogre Battle Gaiden at a very respectable 8th place with 14,283 copies sold in just 3 days. Rather impressive for a system with 0% market share.
