You may know him as Garcian Smith, but did you know that Garcian Smith was really just an assumed persona that Emir hid behind in order to run away from his past? His past as the cold blooded killer, THE BLOODY HEARTLAND
He was the ace of aces.
Emir's killer prowess is so impeccable that he managed to flawlessly pull off the assassination
& murder of
six individuals staying at the Union Hotel.
What's even more remarkable is the fact that Emir was only a mere 13 yr. old when he
committed the job.
It was a deliberate crime targeted toward the Smith Alliance.
It consisted of seven
members, but the leader wasn't included in the seven.
Later investigations found his dead body inside the safe of a school.
The investigative unit called them... The Killer 7.But the whole affair was never made public.
Not because this was an aberration from society.
But because it involved national security issues.
Unfortunately a curse brought upon Emir, by old tradition.
Emir is an assassin controlled by the government, someone is always watching his every move.
You know Emir very well, for he is none other than the original identity of
Garcian Smith.That's right Garcian Smith himself is yet another persona of Emir.
A facade created by Emir Parkreiner to escape the truth of the grisly murders that he had
committed as a 13 yr. old.
The so called Killer 7 were all annihilated by Emir.
The Killer 7 have been recreated to ease Emir of the psychological pain that he endured during the Union Hotel
incident.
For you see he suffers from a lack of mental stability,
and has what is commonly known as
"Disassociative Identity Disorder"=
The presence of two or more distinct identities or personality states
(each with its own relatively enduring pattern of perceiving, relating to, and thinking about the environment and self).
At least two of these identities or personality states recurrently take control of the person's behavior.
Inability to recall important personal information that is too extensive to be explained by ordinary forgetfulness.
The disturbance is not due to the direct physiological effects of a substance (e.g., blackouts or chaotic behavior during Alcohol Intoxication)
or a general medical condition (e.g., complex partial seizures).

Dissociative Identity Disorder is also referred to as Multiple Personality Disorder.
Due to the traumatic experience of the Union hotel murders,
Emir devised a new identity for himself.
His new identity separated & severed consciously from Emir's original identity.
Through the new identity as Garcian Smith, Emir had lost contact with his very own
perceptions, self-awareness, and memory.
This process further escalated as he created personae
for each of the victims that he had murdered that faithful night.
As the conception of the Killer 7 began to emerge,
each of their respective personae piled up inside Emir.
The Killer 7 stacked one persona on top of the other before,
burying Emir's original identity at the bottom.
Killer 7 are the remnant psyches that have been shielding him from the truth that Emir had wished to forget.
Harman Smith on the other hand has a relation to Garcian that transcends much deeper than that...
Garcian is originally a persona of Harman Smith,
therefore Garcian is also able to tap into the ritual known as
Multifoliate Personae Phenomenon.
This is the celestial like ability to morph & become an entirely new entity.
Emir's fictional reality began to collapse due to the deaths of both Samantha Sitbon & Chris Mills.
Shortly after a series of events transpired that ultimately led up to dismantling the illusion of Emir's charade.
He had came face to face with his past, and finally embraced who he truly was.
Emir Parkreiner, now rid of the other seven personae that has been living life in his stead,
Has became reacquainted with his viciously suave, bloodthirsty killer instinct.

The difference between Harman & Emir is that Harman's personae all exist as separate entities & Harman Smith is recognized as the dominant personality.
Emir on the other hand has all his personalities stacked up one after another like a deck of cards.
With his original personality being at the very bottom.

Harman is fully in control of his abilities whereas Garcian has a whacked out case of Disassociative Identity Disorder.
What makes Emir's case so special is that Garcian Smith was originally one of Harman Smith's personae. note: Garcian is also Harman's first absorbed persona.
(The Garcian Smith persona was probably transplanted into Emir's mind after being adopted by the "Young Harman Smith".
The fedora wearing Harman claims to be a government agent so he would have the capabilities needed to brainwash someone thoroughly.)
Therefore allowing Emir to tap into Harman Smith's "Multifoliate Personae Phenomenon" ability.
Which means the Garcian Smith persona allowed Emir the power to transform into his other personas & be able to acquire their abilities & personalities at the same time.
If Garcian Smith did not exist than Emir would not be able to morph into his other personalities.
He would just be a normal psycho path that has a Disassociative Identity Disorder.
(During the last level he can not change shape,because he finally broke the hypnosis that lead him to believe that he was Garcian Smith)

Speculations: Under constructioN This was later proven false by Suda 51. However there is an audio drama out that refers to Suda's past games, and Suda himself has said that there is a special reason why Elmer looks like Emir.
Suda 51 said it's a secret, so he's not telling.
If you ask my opinion, I believe that Elmer actually is Emir Parkreiner.
If Ryo Kazan from Moonlight Syndrome, and some random killer who looks exactly like him in Silver Case are the same exact people.
Then I don't see why Emir & Elmer wouldn't be the same person.
I think Suda 51 just didn't want to disappoint his fans by killing Emir off in one of the most ridiculous ways possible.
(Not that Suda hasn't already done that with protagonists from his former games.)

This speculation stems from Ed Maclister's dialogue during his first cutscene in Killer 7
"Garcian: How do you know my name?
Ed Macalister: "I remember all the names of our guests. Including your bag sir."
When Ed say's "Including your bag sir." He was actually referencing Sumio Mondo's briefcase "KATHARINE"
Katharine also happens to be the name of Emir Parkreiner's alleged mother.
Which means that Ed either believes or senses that Garcian Smith is actually a stock body of Sumio Mondo

I don't feel like looking for the actual quote, because I read it off of K7 2ch a long time ago. I feel that it's just a crack theory that's worthy of mention, because of how off the wall it sounds. The original theory posted at 2ch was based off of soul snatching from the Atlus game "Devil Summoner". This is the original DS game mind you, not the PS2 disaster known as Kuzunoha Raido.
What was remarkable about the connection is that both Garcian/Emir & Kyoji Kuzunoha even have a similar wardrobe.
Mr. Kuzunoha is a man who lost his body to a kid. (The main character of DS.)
Kuzunoha died protecting that kid, & the kid later died the same day.
It wasn't time for that kid to die yet, so Death (Grim Reaper) gave the kid Kuzunoha's body.
As a result during Devil Summoner 2 Soul Hackers Kuzunoha's conscious took control of some other occultist's body.
If you played Persona 2 Eternal Punishment, there was an elderly obese man named Thedoroki.
Maya Amano & crew were shocked to see how knowledgeable Theodoroki was about demons,& demon summoning considering that he doesn't look the type.
The reality was that Thedoroki's body was actually stolen by Kyouji Kuzunoha a professional Devil Summoner.
The point that I'm getting at is that some people in Japan think that Emir Parkreiner is Sumio & Sumio is now in the body of an African Indian man.
This stems from the Silver Eye, but I'll get into that at a later time.
Whether this is true or not is anybodies' guess, but I'm listing it as false for now. False, but it is interesting food for thought.
