Quick facts: Harman is a perverted paraplegic. He wields a big ass gun. There appears to be more then one Harman Smith. In fact, I think it's easier to state that there are no known facts about Harman Smith at all.

Notable: Some fans in Japan believe that Harman has a silver eye.
Silver eyes are said to grant immortality. Or something like that.
Silver eyes don't actually grant immortality, they just allow you to live on in a different host or body.
(Which could possibly explain why there is more than one Harman Smith in the game.)

Harman seems to be the Yayoi Itsushima/Toriko Kusabi character of Killer 7. He is completely shrouded in secrecy, and we know almost nothing about him. We don't even know which Harman Smith is the real Harman or if Harman even exists at all. Maybe he's just a state of mind? Who's to say for sure. The only piece of reliable info that I can come up with is that there was once a man named Harman Smith who has made quite an impact in Emir's life.

Multifoliate Personae Phenomenon

He is the man who Emir saw in his past.
He is a professional killer, a hitman that operates within the criminal underworld.

Harman Smith is an individual who has the uncanny ability to perform a ritual dubbed as the "Multifoliate Personae Phenomenon".
He can absorb, maintain, and transform into several personae that all exist parallel to
each other; their identities and their bodies keep their individuality,
yet they are bound to each other.
The following are reported methods of the process that Harman Smith undergoes

(1) He can only absorb corpses that meet unknown requirements
for compatibility.

(2) When Harman's consciousness recognizes that a corpse is
compatible with Harman, the corpse transforms into thousands
of small particles, which Harman's body absorbs.

(3) Incredibly, the absorbed body exists within Harman--with its
own personality completely intact!

(4) When a persona becomes manifested, Harman's physical form
changes completely, Harman's mental qualities change, too,
adopting the total personality associated with the body.

It is not known whether this is a biological deformity or a supernatural occurrence.
"Multifoliate Personae Phenomenon" bares similarities to "Disassociative Identity Disorder"
Harman took in a young man named Emir Parkreiner at the roof of the Union Hotel, the night of the Killer 7 murders.
In his eyes Emir was one of the very few assassins with class.
Though a bit out of control. Emir was no longer a mortal being. Ever so quietly evil had opened it's eyes.

When Killer 7 was originally conceived (Hand in Killer 7)
The Killer 7 were suppose to be personae that Harman Smith absorbs into his conscious where he maintains & controls them.
Harman can morph into the other personae that all exist parallel with each other.
The identities of the personae each have their own identity & personality intact from when they were still alive.
Garcian Smith is Harman Smith's first persona that he absorbed into his consciousness.
This ability that Harman has is called the "Multifoliate Personae Phenomenon".

Quick facts: Kun Lan is NOT Iwazaru, & vice versa. Harman & Kun Lan are close friends with one another, yet they represent opposing ideals.
Kun Lan is known to be an incarnation of Mara Papima.
The following is quoted from Kitano Smith.
" Mara Papima is actually the "king" of the Mara. It's the Buddhist equivalent of the christian devil, if you will, who's only purpose is to prevent Buddha (and you. Which is to say, the Buddha may be yourself) from developping a third eye (enlightment), by clouding his mind with trivialities like carnal activities, which is why Mara often assumes the form of a woman, or several women in order for Buddha to never achieve the highest plane."

Notable: Isn't it quite strange how the only people in Killer 7 who interact with Kun Lan are all dead? Save for Matsuken. Even then Kun Lan only appeared to Matsuken after Matsuken killed his superiors. I believe this incident was actually a transitory state between the land of the dead & the living. It's my opinion that Kun Lan is not talking about Emir Parkreiner during his little sermon with Harman Smith. I believe that Kun Lan is merely referring to the psychology of killers.

Catastrophe from the East

He's Tibetan half Chinese. Kun Lan is the son of a governor,
and born as an adult He is known to be an incarnation of the demon, Marla Parpiner.
At the tender age of three,Kun Lan became the leader of underground societies.
His power has made him known as "God's Hand."
Kun Lan's objective is the destruction of nations, using billions of Heaven Smiles.
Perhaps he dreams of a world of freedom, or utter chaos & anarchy.

Kun Lan was killed by Harman 30 years ago, but has since resurfaced. Officially the root of all evils, having created the Heaven Smile terrorists. Wields the power of the "God Hand," embodying the power of gods.
