The Bosses in Secret of Mana arn't difficult if you have made the most of your party. Make sure you have the most recent armor, weapons and make sure your weapon and magic levels are at a decent level too. If you're not having much luck on a boss, use Slyphid's Analyzer and find out what to use. Remember to keep your inventory full and to save before you meet a boss. You should be saving as often as possible anyway.

Make sure you are at least at level 10 or over by the time you fight this boss. Its attacks are very strong and it can sometimes knock you unconscious. Attack Spikey Tiger with short range weapons when it's on your level and long range weapons when it's on a ledge. Keep moving, as it'll try to mow you down or land on you. If you get too close it'll start biting you. Try switching character if this happens and use the other character to hit it, it'll drop the character it's chewing on.

The best way to defeat this boss is to keep to the same side of the screen that it is in. Make sure you don't stand around in the center of the arena or it'll run you down. As you keep to the side it will slowly edge towards you, use this time to cast Thunderbolt on it until you think it's close enough to attack you. Make a dash around it and to the top (or bottom depending on where you are) of the screen. Repeat this and try to avoid magic attacks if possible.

Tips
Name: Mana Beast
There is no hope of using magic attacks against the Mana Beast as it'll cast Wall at level 7. Your only hope is to use the sword. It uses some pretty strong fire and physical attacks. It flies past doing damage to you by knocking you down. Lucid Barrier will help a lot through this battle, as it will protect you against its attacks. You'll have to keep casting it though, as its attacks sap the power out of the barrier. It'll come down into view after a few passes and use Lucent Beam against you. Try not to use Wall as you'll have to heal yourself a lot here. You will now have Dryad's third spell, Mana Magic. Have the hero take the sword and cast using both the Girl and the Sprite's Mana Magic on the hero. The Sword will now have revived, and be at full strength. To make this more effective, use Moon Energy on the hero as well. If your levels are high you'll notice that when you hit the Mana Beast with the sword it will do 999 HP damage. Keep doing this and repeat the process again if the Beast runs off. When you beat it it'll turn white and disintegrate.
