anyone know where to get a decent graphics program that is possibly freeware, i don't want to have to pay for paint shop again.

try blender. its free and its a pretty powerful prog. can do most thinks that 3ds max and lightwave can do, and did i mention its free!!!

Blender is freeware? I've used it once though since I'm that used to lightwave's interface it was a bit difficult to get my head around. Though it's very intuitive if you put practice and time into it.

2D work, there is no real substitute for something with real power and a full sized monitor graphics tablet (only £2000, I'll take two )... but freeware, The GIMP is your best bet by far. All my recent 2D work on this forum has been done using it. Though it has the drawback that it seems to be designed more for image manipulation (hence the name) than any form of image creation. But its effort to output ratio is pretty good, you just need to experiment with it to find how best to use its plug ins and other features.
