neato! I like the "tail light" impulse engines. When I model impulse engines, I often do that style directly behind a large pane of glass. I know what you're saying about modellers block too, heh, happens to the best of us.

well. thxs to lc for muscle referance every time he sees this ship and txs to armondikov for pointing me to the latin word for muscler i have decided to call this ship the lacertosus class

edit: havnt changed anything but i did decide to do somthing to improve on the look alittle and thats to make a clay render. might not mean much to some of you but from my time learning to model cars a clay render can help to show up defects in a mesh and it makes the render look pretty hot too

cheers peg i was hoping you would pop along some time
i have been using a turbosmooth modifier but i am going to ditch that and work more on poly placment that was i will be able to add more detail and it dont look half bad under a normal smooth modifier

You could use a mix of both in different areas as the nacelles could definitely be done with a smoother edge while the engine inserts look fine as they are in normal smoothing.

hey guys. got another update. just spent like 2 hours stripping the mesh of most the polys i dont need in it. but i have created a couple of miner errors so they are next on my list before i start making them nacelles more round.

Cool. I like the way you've integrated the impulse and warp engines into a single wrap around cowling.

Whoa. If that circle represents the bridge, those are either HUGE nacelles, or this is a very, very tiny ship. Wink

Great modelling work, though.

if you noticed the nacelles where oversized on the proper defiant so im not doing that much differant with them apart from making the impulse engines in the same area and with better looks than those on the original defiant. myby i could increase the size of the bridge alittle i dunno. its not as small as it looks its mainly because of the angle of the pic

Edit; only got a small update. just a quick little thing after gettingi n from work. i added a couple of phaser strips but i need to find where i have a problam on the mesh cause shapemerge has stop working properly. im guessing i have an opan vert somewhere

p.s anyone here want to see how this started out life. if you remember my older ships before i vanished into the nothingness that is cg-cars then you will hate this but laugh at it also
