Someone on a Japanese board asked for an explaination, and it's just that his cooking stats reflect an extreme dislike of tomatoes. But someone else who replied had "Colette", "Bell Pepper", and "Over Limits" all in the same sentence. I didn't pay attention or try to translate it, but later I remember it and wondered "Will characters go into Over Limits extra-fast if you make them grumpy by cooking foods they don't like?" (It's already known that cooking will make them Over Limit faster, but the details are fuzzy.) Well, first I had to figure out which food every hated. Only Lloyd (tomato) and Colette (bell pepper) are ever mentioned, I think. But they're cooking stats reflect this, and there's Mr. Anti-Tomato Kratos. So I mastered all dishes for all characters and counted up how many times they used a certain ingredient when it was optional. I guess if you're the world's biggest fan of a certain character, you might care what their favorite and least favorite foods are, so here's what I found out... Lloyd Favorite - Beef Least Favorite - Tomato Colette Favorite - Fruit (mostly Apple?) Least Favorite - Bell Pepper Genis Favorite - Potato Least Favorite - Carrot (Hard to tell his favorite since he uses more optional ingredients than everyone anyway) Raine Favorite - Lemon Least Favorite - Mushroom Kratos Favorite - ??? Least Favorite - Tomato (Couldn't detirmine favorite. He's the only one who ever specifically opted for tuna, as opposed to any random fish, but it was only once.) Sheena Favorite - Rice Least Favorite - ??? Zelos Favorite - ??? Least Favorite - ??? Presea Favorite - ??? Least Favorite - Carrot? (Her ingredient choices are so very average. She does use a few carrots, just less than everyone (except Genis).) Regal Favorite - Tofu Least Favorite - Beef Now for the real research.... I decided to test Colette with Regal cooking. (Besides Lloyd, she was the only one I was certain of favorite/least favorite, but no one besides Lloyd uses beef specifically.) I made Colette go into Over Limits by getting hit, so she'd start at 0 tension (note she needs 91 for Over Limits). I made sure she never got hit while testing. I had Regal cook Tenderloin (contains bell pepper) over 40 times, only failing once. Colette didn't react at all. (For the record, neither did Lloyd with the Tenderloin's tomato.) I turned the other characters to semi-auto and tried to make Colette get Over Limits by getting hit. It wasn't easy to count how much she got hit, but it took enough that I detirmined that the tenderloin was having no effect toward Over Limits. So she's back down to 0 tension. I had Regal cook Fruit Cocktail next. It only took 4~6 (yeah, I lost count -_-) fruit cocktails to make Colette Over Limit! I tried it again, and for some reason it took ten fruit cocktails just to make get the flickering red lines that indicate she's 90% there (maybe because I ran out of apple?). Now that I had her flickering, I cooked another tenderloin (at the end of battle with X). She instantly stopped flickering! Surprised So I have determined that cooking a character's hated food makes it harder to go Over Limits! (Makes no sense, but it's true.) Things still need to be tested: -How will Colette react to food has neither fruit nor bell pepper? -Is it really apple that made a difference w/ fruit cocktail? -How is the character who cooks effected? -Must confirm that everyone works the way Colette does. (BTW, A previous discovery is that failing a dish also drops tension.) |
