Swordsmanship Training IX. Sword Dancer X. Imposters XI. Mother XII. Raine's Sickness XIII. Summon Spirit of Heart XIV.Women List XV. Colette's Dogs I. Rebuilding Luin: Difficulty: Intermediate Rewards: Able to buy very good weapons, statues of characters, and a scene with the imposters (see "X. Imposters" part of guide) To be able to do this sidequest, you must have Sheena in your party and have a pact with the Summon Spirit of Water, Undine, who is located at Thoda Geyser. After destroying the Asgard Ranch and after Governor-General Dorr dies, head to Lake Umacy. Lake Umacy is located right by a mountain range which is somewhat south of Asgard Human Ranch. After you enter, you should see a cutscene showing a unicorn trapped underneath the water. After freeing the unicorn, it will give you its horn. This will make Raine learn Resurrection. Now, go to the Hima Inn and visit Pietro. He will be healed by Raine. Later on in the game, visit Pietro again. The maid says Pietro has gone back to Luin to rebuild it. Enter the town, and by the former Inn is Pietro. Talk to him, and you will be able to donate money to help him restore Luin. You should pay Pietro in a certain way. You should make fifteen payments in total. Do NOT pay more than each payment requires, because it will not be carried over to the next payment. As you pay more, Luin is getting better and better, and more people start to help. Eventually, Luin will become a full-fledged city again, and its weapon shop sells the second-best weapons in the game. Here is the amount that should be payed for each payment: II. Meteor Storm: Difficulty: Easy Rewards: The spell Meteor Storm for Genis, title Mana Master for Genis. After Heimdall is destroyed by the falling pieces of the Tower of Salvation and obtaining the Derris Emblem, return to Heimdall. Go to the fallen build with the Katz outside it, then to the right and around. Talk to the elves there and watch the scene. Genis will learn the spell Meteor Storm and he will get the title Mana Master. III. Duel with Kuchinawa: Difficulty: Hard Rewards: Asura After the scene at the Lezareno Company where you see Kuchinawa, level up to around level 60 with Sheena. Make sure to have the spells Demon Seal and an upgrade of Pyre Seal. Now go to Mizuho, talk to Orichi who is in blue, and watch the scene. Now you will fight Kuchinawa. This is one of the toughest fights in the game. Kuchinawa has 10,000 hit points, powerful attacks, and you can't use any items. The most important thing to do in this battle is to stay away from Kuchinawa, and wait until he attacks you. If he uses the attack where he throughs a dagger at you, you have two options. If you are close to him, keep running to him. If you are far away, don't run to him until the dagger hits the ground. When he lands, combo on him and end with Demon Seal, and then run away. All other attacks should be guarded or dodged. You DO NOT have to win this battle, but if you do, you get one of Sheena's most powerful weapons in the game. IV. Healing Clara: Difficulty: Easy Rewards: None After Dorr dies, Clara will be freed in her monster form. Sometime later, go to Hima. A group of fighters will be there trying to kill Clara and thinks she is a monster. Walk to the group and stop them. Clara will run away and the group will get mad at you. After defeating Rodyle and obtaining Resurrection for Raine, go to Izoold. In the beach area, Clara and the fighters make another appearance. walk up to them and choose the command to stop them. Raine will cure Clara, and she will become human again. V. Maxwell, the Summon Spirit of Matter: Difficulty: Hard Rewards: Summon: Birth spell for Sheena, Master Summoner Title for Sheena, Turquoise After obtaining the Derris Emblem, equip all the gems you received from all the other Summon Spirits to four party members. Now, go to Exire, which is floating randomly in the sky. Go up, right, all the way into the building and out of it, onto the bride to the next area. Now, in this area, there should be a house, and a bridge leading to another area. walk up the side that is to the right of the house, and loop around the back, heading in the left direction. Head left and up the the long bridge. There should be a Stone Tablet. If you did everything right, Maxwell should appear. Then you get to fight him. Maxwell has 60,000 hit points and very powerful attacks. Raine should be in your party casting defensive spells. Use healing items when anyone is at half of their HP. Watch out for Maxwell's strongest attack, Meteor Storm. After defeating Maxwell, watch the scene. Sheena will be able to summon Maxwell and will receive the Master Summoner title. You will also obtain Turquoise, Maxwell's gem. VI. Niflheim, Book of the Underworld: Difficulty: Hard In the last part of Derris-Kharlan, solve the puzzle to get the Sacred Stone. Now go to Heimdall. Go to the second area of Heimdall, and talk to one of the elves there. He'll talk about a dangerous book being stolen from Heimdall, a book that needs to be destroyed. If you have the Sacred Stone, he will comment on it, saying that it needs to be used to destroy the book. Now go to the library in Sybak. On one of the shelves there should be a book that sticks out. Go to it and press "A", and watch the scene. Choose "Help us". Now, go to an inn, and make sure you are ready. Go back to the book and let yourself be sucked in. Watch the scene. Now, you are in Niflheim. Here is how Niflheim works: you start off with 100 Soulfire. At any time, if your soulfire hits 0, game over. Whenever you begin a floor, a new floor effect will activate. Depending on the level/floor color, different inherent effects occur, based on the color of the level/floor. You will constantly lose soulfire unless a floor effect negates this rule. Defeating an enemy will increase or decrease your soulfire depending on how quickly you finish the battle. Shooting the Sorcerer's Ring will DECREASE your soulfire by 10 points. You can light various fire pots to gain a net 30 soulfire, as well as add various effects. If you activate a flame's effect, your soulfire will decrease faster. You cannot run from battle at any time. To reach the final boss, AFTER clearing floor 15, you must have around 800-900 soulfire. Finally, this dungeon is randomly generated, so do not expect any walkthroughs of it. When you clear Floor 10, you will have to fight the Hell Knight. It has 88,000 HP and some pretty good attacks. It shouldn't pose too much of a threat. When you clear Floor 15, you'll have to fight the Living Armor. He is the 2nd-toughest boss in the game, and is hard even with Lloyd's Devil's Arm. He has 120,000 HP and very powerful attacks, so be careful. VII. Devil's Arms: Difficulty: Hard Rewards: All Devil's Arms, Empty Soul title for Presea Before this side-quest, make sure you are at least at level 55-80 and you have eight party members. When you are in Toize Valley Mine, you will come across a Bacura which you need to destroy. After destroying the Bacura, examine its ruins. You will obtain the Evil Eye. Now go to Flanoir. In the first area, there is a man slumped at a house's door. After a scene, you will receive Nebilim and Nebilim's Key, which will allow you to get the other seven Devil's Arms. First go to Triet. Talk to the man south of the Katz team, and then the man sitting with his dog near the oasis. Now, go out of Triet and into the overworld map. Go north, until you hit the mountains. Around that area should be a blue shiny spot that you usually touch to trigger a skit. Touch it, and you will get into a fight with a Sand Worm. Defeat it, and you will receive the Devil Arm, Soul Eater. In the middle of Gaorachhia Forest, there will be a black chest covered in vines. Use the Sorcerer Ring with the light upgrade to move the vines away and open the chest. You will receive the Devil Arm Fafnir. Go to Altessa's home and there will be a Gnomelette. Talk to him, and he will return to the Temple of Earth. Now follow him to Temple of Earth. Go to the passage where the breakable wooden platforms are located, and get to the bottom. Head down the edge and you should see four Gnomelettes there. Walk to them and watch the scene. After they leave, go through the path that was blocked and open the chest. You will receive the Devil Arm, Gates of Hell. Go to Altamira and go to the inn to make it nighttime (when the receptionist asks you to if you are going out tonight, say yes). Now take the railway to the casino and theater. Go down the path to the theater, and there will be a guy leaning on the wall, looking at the sea. Talk to him and a brief scene will occur. Buy the kendama for 1000 Gald, and you will receive the Devil Arm, Disaster. In Latheon Gorge, on the second screen there will be a chest. Open the chest to receive the Devil Arm, Diablos. In Welgaia, there will be a room with five floors. On the first floor, a chest will be in one of the doors. Open the chest to receive the Devil Arm, Apocalypse. After receiving the eighth Devil Arm, Abyssion should walk to you. Watch the scene. Now go to Flanoir, and talk to Abyssion again for another scene. Now go to Hakonesia Peak. Talk to the old man in the house, Koton, for a scene. After the scene, you will receive the Devil Arm, Heart of Chaos. Before you do anything, stock up on as many healing items you can. Now head to the Temple of Darkness. Go all the way down to where you fought the Shadow. You will now fight Abyssion. Abyssion is the hardest battle in the game. Make sure that Raine is in your party with Revitalize and Resurrection. Zelos/Kratos are good people for this battle too, as well as Genis if you want some powerful offensive spells. An All-Divide is very useful in this battle also, as it halves all damage done to you or Abyssion. Abyssion borrows attacks from all the characters except for Sheena, including Meteor Storm. Do not guard as his attacks are unpredictable, just dodge the attacks. Unison attacks help well here, and while Abyssion is in Overlimit mode, the damage is normal. But be careful as he will go in to Overlimit mode shortly after the Unison attack. I suggest to combo up on Abyssion, and then quickly get out of range of his attack. After you defeat Abyssion, Presea will get the "Empty Soul" title, and the Devil's Arms' power will be completely restored. Now, every time a character kills an enemy, the Devil's Arms get stronger. The power only increases for the character who killed the monster. VIII. Swordmanship Training: Difficulty: Intermediate Rewards: None At the beginning of the game while Kratos is in the party, you can trigger scenes where Kratos trains Lloyd's swordmanship skills. This will make Kratos' relationship with Lloyd better. There are four events in total and they MUST go in order and can be missed if they are not activated at the right time. Here are the events in order: 1. In Palmacosta, talk to the soldier outside the government building at the right of the door. 2. After defeating the fake Summon Spirit on the altar in Asgard, you will wake up in the expensive Asgard hotel. Go to Linar’s house to get Raine back in your party. Then return to the same hotel you just stayed in and pay 600 Gald to spend the night again. That night, Kratos will offer another training session. 3. After sneaking into the Asgard Human Ranch undercover and being saved by Sheena, talk to the guy near the destroyed Weapon Shop in Luin. Kratos will appear and say he wants to train again. 4. When all the characters are standing in different points of Hima before you go on the dragon trip to the Tower of Salvation, talk to Kratos twice. This should activate the fourth and final event. IX. Sword Dancer: Difficulty: Hard Rewards: Yata Mirror, Yasakani Jewel, Kusanagi Blade The first encounter is located at the Ossa Trail. It will be available to fight until you reach the Tower of Salvation. You should be at least at level 20. Have Kratos in battle to support the attacking and Raine to heal. Colette's angel techniques are its biggest weakness, so she is recommended in this battle also. The Sword Dancer has 8888 hit points. You will obtain the Yata Mirror accessory for defeating the Sword Dancer. The next encounter is located at Gaoracchia Forest. It will be available to fight as soon as you can enter the Gaoracchia Forest, and until Sheena is able to summon Luna and Aska. You should be somewhere in the 50s level-wise. Raine should be in the battle to heal, and Presea to help attack. Any other person can fill the last slot in your party. This Sword Dancer has 33333 hit points. You will obtain the Yasakani Jewel for defeating the Sword Dancer. The final encounter is located at Iselia Forest. It will be available to fight after Colette's sickness is healed, and until the end of the game. You should be at least at level 65. Have Kratos/Zelos in the party and Presea so they can help out attacking. Whoever else can fill the last place. If you have an All-Divide use it, unless you have not fought Abyssion yet and only have one. The final Sword Dancer has 99999 hit points. You will obtain the Kunsanagi Blade for defeating the Sword Dancer once and for all. X. Imposters: Difficulty: Easy Rewards: None The imposters at Palmacosta make several appearances after the Palmacosta Wine incident. There are four areas to see them after Palmacosta and they MUST be seen in order. The first three meetings will not happen on Disc 2. 1. After destroying the Asgard Human Ranch, go to the altar where you fought the fake Summon Spirit of Wind. The imposters will be there trying to steal money from the people of Asgard. They will run off when you appear. 2. You will find the imposters leaving the Balacruf Mausoleum with stolen money from the two tourists and the dog in front of the ruins. 3. After the the tenth payment to the restoration efforts for Luin, the imposters will cause trouble in front of the item shop. 4. The final meeting with the imposters will be at Asgard again after clearing the Iselia Human Ranch. The citizens of Asgard will not remember them from the previous scam. XI. Mother: Difficulty: Easy Rewards: Virginia's Diary Once on Disc 2, fly to Exire, the floating city in Tethe'Alla. Find the small, raised house and go inside. The man in the house will tell you about Virginia lives in the city. Now go to the other side of the city. Once in front of Virginia's house, a lady nearby will warn you not to go to inside. Ignore the warning, and head inside. A scene will now occur with Raine, Genis, and their mother, Virginia. After the scene, return to the small, raised house to obtain Virginia's Diary, and to hear the story of why Raine and Genis were abandoned. XII. Raine's Sickness: Difficulty: Easy Rewards: Friend title for Genis After going to the Sybak Library and diagnosing Colette’s sickness, return to Altessa’s house where Raine faints. The party will split up, with Zelos, Colette, and Presea going to see Flanoir’s doctor, and Sheena and Regal going to see Meltokio’s doctor. Raine, Lloyd, Genis, and Mithos are the only four that remain at Altessa’s house. Mithos tells Genis that Raine has the Ozette Flu. He also knows of a flower atop the Fooji Mountain that is the only cure for the deadly disease. Lloyd overhears their conversation and wonders if he should follow them. Choose to follow them, and you will end up at a scene in the Fooji Mountains where Lloyd saves the two half-elves. During this scene, Genis will obtain the Friend title. XIII. Summon Spirit of Heart: Difficulty: Easy Rewards: None After getting the Derris Emblem and after Sheena fights Kuchinawa, wander around the Iselia area. A skit will appear in which Sheena says she feels Corrine's presence. Head to Martel Temple where Sheena explains that Corrine is near. Go to the seal room and Corrine will appear in a bigger form. Sheena and Corrine will have a small reunion, which will be the end of this sidequest. XIV. Women List: Difficulty: Intermediate Rewards: Various Items, Gigilo title for Zelos If Zelos has his personal ex-skill equipped, he will be able to receive items from all the women he talks to. You will only get one item per woman, but it will all add up eventually. When Zelos talks to all the women in both worlds, he will receive his Gigilo title.

She MUST have her voice for this. Naming all 30 dogs will earn Colette the Dog Lover title. Here is a list of all the dog locations. Locations marked with an asterisk (*) have dogs that must be named before the town or place is destroyed. |
