UNVEILS NEOGEO POCKET MP3 PLAYER, NEW TITLES Company Also Debuts New Logo and Corporate Identity LOS ANGELES - May 11, 2000 - SNK Entertainment Inc., a newly created division of SNK Japan, is displaying a new MP3 add-on for the NeoGeo Pocket Color handheld gaming system - the first of its kind in North America - at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, May 11 through May 13, 2000. The company is also announcing a number of new titles for the NeoGeo Pocket Color, Sega Dreamcast and Sony PlayStation platforms. SNK Entertainment Inc. was created as a new corporate entity under which SNK’s consumer product offerings, including the NeoGeo Pocket Color hardware and software, in addition to titles for other consoles, will be marketed and distributed. "This is an exciting time for SNK Entertainment because we’ve got a fresh take on what needs to be done to help the NeoGeo Pocket Color make a splash in the U.S. handheld market," Joyce Corkos, vice president of marketing, SNK Entertainment Inc., said. "This renewed commitment, combined with a wide-open window of opportunity and a continuous flow of solid titles from Japan, should help further establish SNK as a key player, not only in the handheld market, but in the entire video game industry." Included on this year’s list of titles on display at E3 are some familiar arcade conversions, some surprising yet well-known names, and a number of original titles: "Metal Slug - 2nd Mission"; "Dynamite Slugger" (NGPC); "Last Blade - Beyond the Destiny" (NGPC); "Faselei" (NGPC); "Cool Boarders Pocket" (NGPC); "Biomotor Unitron 2" (NGPC); "Cotton" (NGPC); "Neo Baccarat" (NGPC); "Pocket Reversi" (NGPC); "Picture Puzzle" (NGPC); "Evolution" (NGPC); "U.S. Wrestling" (NGPC); "Cool Cool Jam" (NGPC); "King of Fighters ’99" (PSX); "Metal Slug X" (PSX); "Cool Cool Toon" (DC); and "King of Fighters - Evolution" (DC). E3 is also the first public appearance for Ben Herman and Joyce Corkos, new members of SNK Entertainment Inc.’s management team. Herman, previously with SNK Corporation of America, has been hired as the company’s vice president of sales while Corkos, a 15 year industry veteran with experience at Tecmo, Romstar and Konami, is SNK’s vice president of marketing. SNK’s NeoGeo Pocket Color, released in August 1999, features a custom-designed TFT-format LCD with a palette of 4,096 colors, capable of displaying 146 colors simultaneously. The 45 x 48 millimeter game window, which measures 2.6 inches diagonally across, is easier to see from side angles and in both bright and dim light than Nintendo’s Game Boy Color. SNK’s NeoGeo Pocket Color also features a unique revolving joystick, providing gamers with advanced game control and maneuverability. Two buttons help players perform all the actions. Two AA batteries will provide nearly 40 hours of continuous play, double the amount provided by the Game Boy Color. NeoGeo Pocket Color also features a lithium battery, which allows for backup and save game capabilities. The unit keeps time on the system’s built-in clock, even when the system is turned off.
