Tips & Tricks for Default Tracks

Toys in the Hood 1

Sidewalk Shortcuts by DiscoNate17
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you go on the sidewalks in Toys in the Hood it could save lots of time. One example is when you have to do the turn there will be to small corners. If you ride over them instead of turning it saves 2 seconds, just don't flip over!

Slick Trick by Rune
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The best move in "Toys In The Hood" is to drop oil just before the first power-up upon approching the tunnel. Placed correctly, it will cause ALL cars driving through it to miss the pipe - they will remain there until they recover.

Chris' View by Chris Tucker
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This track is longer (than SuperMarket 2) and cars able to accelerate and hit high speeds usually are the better ones to race with. Of all the Bronze cup cars I find the R/C Bandit works best for me in the Arcade mode on this track. For the terrain you are on it has good traction in all the areas where turns take place and can often be in the middle of the pack, ready to fire whatever forward-launched power-ups you pick up.

Tunnel Bowling by Oliver Langdon
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let the steel ball go (when you have it) midway through the tunnel - this screws lots of people up.

Turbo Tip by Brian Garcia
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is possible to use the turbo boost to some advantage on one of the straights (after turn 5) if you use it while exiting the turn and let off the gas halfway down the straight and turning 90 degrees. You usually slide to a speed where you start getting control back at the turn, and can accelerate straight into it as if you had stopped.

Play Dirty by Brian Garcia
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you want to play dirty, the BEST place on the course to fire rockets is on the end just before the pipe - people usually aren't going straight here, and even if they are, firing 2 rockets (about a second apart) will usually send them flipping into one of the death-trap dead ends on either side of the pipe.

Secret Passage by Tony Fazzone
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As you are finishing the lap, take a left into the driveway of the house right before the car with the ramp. You'll find a hidden passageway which is filled with power-ups!

Supermarket 2

Best Practices by Chris Tucker
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The best car I've found for this track (for single race) is the Volken Turbo. This car grips better in the freezer than any other I've tried and is reasonably fast elsewhere. When I use it on this track I can often take first place in Arcade mode. When you enter the freezer room stay as close as you can to the right-hand wall. Your traction is better here than in the center of the floor. If you really have to get those power-ups, though, try skidding through them and bouncing off the far (left-hand) wall.

Museum 2

Secret Passage by Jaguar
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is a shortcut that you can take! After passing throught the spinning thing after the solar system display, you go into a thin hallway, heading downward. Then you reach an open area with a few Egyptian artifacts. That's the place with stairs in the center and ramps on the sides. Going on the left side, you slow down on the ramp, and there is a place to turn left into right after the ramp. You usually miss it becuase you go speeding thorough the ramp, and fly past it. The little passage takes you through another double piano place, until it finally inserts you back onto the main track, right before the finish line.

Botanical Gardens 1

ShortCuts by Jason Ruttan
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is possible to cut ahead of the pack by taking a quick dip in the pond. Just as you approach the corner to drive around the pond, take a right, right into the pond, the exit is on the opposite side! Also when on approach to the start/finish line keep left and there is a passage with power-ups in it.

Toy World 1

Placement Strategy by Dr. Strangelove
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another good place to put oil or dummy pickups is at the entrance to the narrow, elevated track that comes before the keyboard.

Slick Manuever by Upbeat Quasar
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you ever have an oil slick or dud pick-up, always put it on the little keyboard, because when it's in there, it's impossible for the CPU cars to avoid it.

Ghost Town 1

Saloon Shortcut by Helmut Wieser
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As soon as you start, drive in the sand to cut off the curve as much as you can - this saves a lot of time. I highly recommend driving through the saloon [walkway] instead of driving around it. The following sharp [right] corner is tricky, but you win about 2-3 seconds on the whole.

Toy World 2

Choose Your Path Wisely by Dr. Strangelove
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you come to the fork in the road, take the left fork. It is a much easier path to follow.

Toys In The Hood 2

Bridge Detour by Upbeat Quasar
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you go into the area with the stream and two bridges, do not go over the bridges. Instead, go directly at the grassy lump, and when you hit it, turn sharply to the right. You'll hit the wall, and straighten up, then you can go forward. All in all, it saves you valuable seconds.

Toytianic 1

Star Perfromance by gPstr
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Often in Single Race, you'll start this with a Global Pulse (the star). Hang onto it until after the start, go around the pool, then just as the cars are getting to the ramp after the pool use it. They'll not only have to start from a dead stop, but they'll have to do it going uphill.

Museum 1

Secret Passage by Mike Briggs
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you're at the top of the ramp between the set of stairs, instead of turning left, go right. This will take you through a room with laser alarms that avoids having to cross that tiny jump that is nearly impossible.

Supermarket 1

Finish Faster by gPstr
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The best route is to go straight from the beginning, bear just a little to the right and dive under the counter. Turn hard right to go through the tunnel. Go up the first ramp starting as far to the right as possible and cutting towards the left so that when you jump off of the first ramp you land on the second ramp. Make the left up onto the upper level, then make a *hard* right. The goal is to turn so that you shoot off of the leading edge of the opening to the lower level, parallel to the wall, and land on the lower level. The turns on the lower level are easier to negotiate and done right this will save you time.

Hidden Shortcut by Daniel Pedersen
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the beginning of the track you will find a shortcut on the left, behind the counters. Follow the wall and you will enter a tunnel. When you leave the tunnel you will find yourself in front of the metal plates!

Ghost Town 2

Avoid The Ramp by Dr. Strangelove
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you're going through the mineshaft, you'll see a ramp leading up on top of some boxes. Don't go on the ramp. It's very easy to lose seconds spinning out on the ramp.

Toytianic 2

Abandon Ship! by WickEd
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You'll need at least 2 cheats for this one. Activate 'SADIST' and 'URCO', select Probe UFO select TOYTANIC 2 Reversed (some will need the 'all track' cheat 'TRACKER'. Not me :)) Play the race until you get to just after the pool bit, where the track splits in two . Stop, line yourself up with the track on the right lane. Find a battery (right shift) and use it powering towards the next turn. You should hit the small raise in track and fly out of the Toytanic!! If you want, you can turn around and skip some of the course, but the computer will probably pull you back.

Stunt Track

Speed is Key by Cybinary
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When trying to those last few pesky stars in the half-pipe, using Panga-Bear is probibly going to be your best choice (Unless you use a custom car that has some high top speed). The other stars are pretty easy to get, for the loop make sure you have a good racing line before hitting the loop. The others just require a fast car & hitting the jumps right on.
