One of the first really underhand actions you may come across, depending on your game path, is frame - which for those who are not sure, is where you can plant evidence on someone in order to make it *look* like they are guilty of a crime you commit yourself. Great fun to impose on someone you don't like, and rather fun to watch too!
None available.
Depending on who and what you choose as variables to the action, what you see on screen may well differ from my screenshots. This walkthough shows you how the action unfolds - for specific game help and hints about actions see other parts of my site or the manual. The ingame tutorial will also help.

Even with the brightness 2/3's up, the darkness in Novistrana pretty much makes it hard to see at the moment. Well, not to worry - we have an evil action to get going. Mwah ha ha ha!. |
Clicking on the faction member in question brings up his list of actions, and clicking "Frame" brings up the details. This action requires many resources, and offers a large percentage of XP points to grab upon successful completion.

In map world we choose a victim. When it comes to you, you will have an idea about which guys you hate enough to do this, but for the purposes of this report, any unsuspecting victim will do. Let's try Yuri - he's got quite a low resolve which will probably help the action go smoothly. Hmmmmmm... Yuri "Biggie-K" Kalinin. Sounds like a side order of fries and Coke should go with that order... I mean name.

Once done, we click the tick.

Surprisingly, we are still on the map screen. Certain people have been moved around. We are warned that our faction ideology will loose "wealth" points and gain "force" points, which makes sense. We are also shown the amount of sleaze which will be left - 35 (although I am not sure at this time what that is out of - I assume 100). Sleaze, if found by opposing factions, can turn the tables against us.

Notice the mini images near the cursor? The red crying face is our action - all bad actions of this type have this picture. The green images highlight another action which I happen to have set off, which in this case is "Favour", an action which I will describe in a separate report. |
OK - our time slot comes up... |
And we open on a small shop in the local district. |
Here I (i.e. my faction member) come, grinning evilly! |
I stop and look inside the window. |
I look shiftily around. |
And move to the door... |
... which I enter. |
The camera pans back to show the whole place. What's going on? Well - you can come to your own conclusions of course. I am assuming that I am committing a crime inside. |
After a few seconds, I walk outside. See the guy in the rather fetching yellow jumpsuit? That's the fall guy! |
I creep up behind him... |
... lean over and plant some "evidence" in his back pocket... |
... and slowly move back. |
*whistle whistle* *walk away* |
...To a safe place |
Tee hee... he hasn't got a clue what I just did! |
Meanwhile, I haven't finished. Let's get on the phone. |
And I'm done. Three guesses who I just called... |
Yup! |
The police get out... |
... and one starts running towards the guy in yellow. |
He speaks briefly to him - again the camera is a little annoyingly behind a tree. |
The camera moves several times though so you'll be glad I missed nothing interesting. |
Like this! |
And that! What a left hook! |
Grapple hold... |
Yanks his arms behind him... |
... and cuffs the unlucky bugger. |
Whilst giving him a firm knee in the back for good measure. Harsh justice! |
Defeated and a little bewildered, he is led away. |
Down the street they go... |
Past me, the rather mean spirited onlooker... |
And to the car door. |
In he gets. |
As do the policemen... |
... who drive the poor guy away. Hey - don't blame me - he was getting too big for his boots in this town... |
The various menus scroll back on as the action finishes as the car leaves. |
And as you can see - we were successful in knocking his resolve. If you were playing now, you may want to send out some misinformation actions to try and halt the spread of the sleaze the action created... but for the purposes of this review, I think we've seen enough. |
