The 10 levels of the

Thomson MO5 version

Special thanks to Daniel Coulom  for supplying much of the information on this page.

The MO5 is a 6809 based microcomputer designed by  the French company Thomson in 1984. It ran at a clock speed of 1Mhz with 48K of RAM (32K usable from BASIC) and came with 12K of Microsoft BASIC in ROM and a 4K system monitor. The video hardware produced a 40 x 25 matrix text display with redefinable characters and 320x200 bit mapped graphics in 16 colors. It could accept software via cassette tape, cartridge or optional disk drive.

Daniel Coulon maintains a website with his MO5 emulator for the PC called DCMO5. The site is in both French and English. Here he has many ROM and cassette images that run under this emulator including Miner 2049er. Daniel also has a Windows port of the Miner2049er ROM version which integrates the emulator for those who cannot figure out how to use an emulator.

To start Miner 2049er after loading the ROM image into the emulator:

Press any key to set the number of players. SHIFT + ] lets you enter in the player(s) names (this is for US keyboards). Then you have to select the difficulty level using 1-5. 1 is easier, 5 is hard.
