The 10 levels of the

IBM PC version

Special thanks to "Demonlord" of Retrograde Station for what appeared to be the only copy in existence and Peter Schlepphorst for locating him and rescuing this rare version from extinction.

(DISCLAIMER: We do not provide support for this game if it fails to operate on your computer.)

The original copy of this game was supplied on a self booting 5.25" disk. It had a modified COMMAND.COM file so that after starting MS-DOS, it would automatically load and run the MINER.EXE file.

The program runs fine on most modern Pentium machines, using a DOS window. While the gameplay doesn't need to slowdown, the title screen flashes and the 'in between' level screens, among other things are lost - these need to slowdown. The only apparent way to stop the game is to ALT-TAB back to the desktop and close the window (or turn off the PC). The game also supports a joystick but it may not work correctly unless using a standard IBM joystick port such as those found on earlier Sound Blaster cards.

The Lift in Station 8 is turned on by pressing the spacebar. Use the direction keys/joystick to move the lift in the direction desired. Press the spacebar or jump button to turn the lift off and give movement back to Bounty Bob.

Here is a summary of the control keys:

ARROW KEYS:  Move Bounty Bob                    SPACEBAR:  Start/Resume game
ESC:  Jump (also starts a one player game) CTRL-S:  Sound on/off
PAUSE/BREAK:  Pause game CTRL-R:  Resets to title screen

Transporters are controlled by pressing the number of the one you want.
