RCHS Class Reunion -- Games -- Soccer 2

Kunio Kun no Nekketsu Soccer League
This game has a lot going for it over its predecessor (N. Koukou Soccer). More play depth, more wackiness, more action. The only thing it's lacking in is the team selection. In 1 player mode you can only be Japan, and go up against a wide range of teams (12, I think). In the 2 player mode you can only pick from something like nine of the teams from the game, and one of the ones that was omitted is my favorite Mexico -- they're all done up in masks like luchadores. Oh well.
The game plays using the same style as the original, where you control only the captain. I haven't been able to decipher the menus, but before the match you can (apparently) change the team lineup and look at the newspaper to see what the weather's going to be like. Weather? Yes, this game adds many weather effects that alter gameplay signifigantly. The wind is represented by leaves blowing across the field, and occasionally the wind will whip up into a small tornado (the resulting swirl of leaves looks strangely hypnotic) which tosses anyone caught in it around the field. Lightning will strike when it rains, knocking down anyone near the bolt and sometimes electrifying the ball, which makes it unpredictable and dangerous to handle. Finally, the field will sometimes be covered with patches of water or mud, which you slide on and sink into.
You have a much wider range of moves than in the previous game, including double jumping, balancing on the ball, more and wilder super shots, and a strange worm crawl. This is by no means a serious soccer simulation. After a goal is scored, you take control of the captain to show off in front of the crowd, blowing kisses and skipping.
Anyway, this game rocks. I'll put some pictures up as soon as possible.
