There isn't a ton to
report yet, but as new news appears, I'm going to add it. The
best I can do is their press release, a few screenshots, and, thanks to
the folks at YouTube, a couple of really hard to look at
movies. It should be enough, though, to be able to tell that
this next Golden Axe will be the greatest game in the history of
humankind.
I don't
know much about the developer of the franchise, but if they can bring
the love and devotion to the series as the team that developed Metroid
Prime, I will be more than happy. I was a big Metroid fan,
and was pretty wary about updating a 'classic' but they were able (in
my opinion) to bring back all of what made the original so great, but
at the same time, make it seem like something entirely new.
From the YouTube videos, it looks like they're trying for the same
thing. And if nothing else, at least they're acknowledging
that Tyris is, like, really hot.
To see
the movies, head to the
Game Movies
section.
Of
course, this glory is only for the Xbox 360 and the Playstation
3. What do the nex-gen Wii users get? Another
rehash of the same old Golden Axe on a yet another system.
