In Empires, Armored Cars give the Russian player an early armored force that is mobile, relatively well protected, and very effective against infantry due to its machine gun armament. Ranging from homegrown modifications of civilian cars to purpose-built war machines, the Armored Car in the game represents the Red Army’s fledgling armored force, and offers a chance for fast-paced attacks and devastating assaults against unarmored troops. Arkhangelsk Battleship

The USSR Arkhangelsk, as it was later christened, played a small role in Soviet Navy, however, weighing 27,500 tons and armed with eight 15-inch turrets, the Arkhangelsk was certainly not a force to be trifled with. (More Info)


Commissar

The Commissars were officials of the Russian Communist Party who were in charge of political propaganda and the harsh enforcement of loyalty to the Soviets. In Empires, the Commissar will act as an infantry unit that increases the strength and morale of surrounding units. (More Info)


Conscript

In the Soviet Union, military service was compulsory for all males once they turned 18. These conscripts were usually poorly trained, inexperienced youths, who fought to their deaths for the Motherland. In Empires, Conscripts remain true to their real life counterparts. Armed only with their fallen comrade's rifle, these weak infantry troops can be produced in great numbers relatively cheaply. (More Info)


Cossack

When you think of the world’s great cavalry, a few images leap immediately to mind. The Frankish Knights, Napoleon’s Hussars, J.E.B. Stuart’s Confederates, the Polish Uhlans, and of course the Cossacks. KV-8

The Russian KV-8 Flame Tank in Empires in some ways represents the apex of the flamethrower’s evolution. Developed in 1942, and improved throughout the war, it featured a heavy flamethrower mounted in a KV-1 tank, and it was capable of spewing four or five bursts of deadly flame every ten seconds, to a range of between 60 and 120 meters. With 100 liters of fuel and heavy armor, the KV-8 gave commanders a mobile, protected means of assaulting entrenched infantry. (More Info)

The snipers of the Soviet Union preformed with the utmost skill and patience, in a nation torn apart by war, these eagle-eyed snipers inflicted high casualties on the German Wehrmacht. In Empires, snipers will have the ability to kill any desired target on the battlefield with a single direct hit, however, they should be employed wisely, as they have a very poor rate of fire. T-34 Tank

The Russian T-34 was, without a doubt, one the finest tanks of World War II. Easy to manufacture, the T-34 had the perfect balance of armor, speed, and firepower. Soviet Russia recognized the superior design of the German armored vehicles, and in response, manufactured the T-34. (More Info)
