New Admin!

Everyone please welcome [Admin]Mithrandir aka Shigernafy to official adminship! Here's a snippet from Demorian's post on the website:

This esteemed individual has contributed large amounts of improvements to DarkSpace's chat interface coding, mainly in the area of the website. Among his accomplishments are new Private Message management tools, and new forum management tools, making all of our lives immensely easier.

He's been behind the scenes for over three years, slowly influencing the game as he has moved up through the staff ranks, now reaching the pinnacle, at least materialistically, of his DarkSpace career. We are extremely proud to promote Shig, so do him a favor and tell him how happy you are to have him as one of your new NA Community Admins.

Fleet Dueling Tournament Meeting

There will be a meeting for all partcipating teams in the upcoming Fleet Dueling Tournament next Thursday, July 22nd at 7pm EST. At least one member from each team is needed at this meeting. Duels will not be held on this night.

Metaverse Offline?

The Darkspace Metaverse has just gone offline for unknown reasons, hopefully we'll find out what's happened and when it will come back online. But everything else works at the moment. :)

Beta Updates and...stuff

Early this morning the Darkspace Beta client was updated with what is believed to be the lag patch with some other changes, but unforunately the beta servers aren't working correctly so no one is really sure what the size of the update is (when I tried it it was 33MB for the beta client for some reason). I'll post when it's fixed.

Also this beta update means that anyone trying to use the beta servers to connect to the release client will not be able to log in, to fix this is best done by reading this quote by Faustus.
Some players are still using the Beta servers while playing the release version. Due to the upcoming beta patch, this may make it impossible for the release version of the game to connect to the beta servers.

If you have trouble connecting to DarkSpace, please edit your config.ini file found in your DarkSpace directory and delete the line that begins with "metaAddress=". This will connect you automatically to the release servers.
