Commandos and Windows 2000
But "I want to play BCD on Win2K" you say? Fear not, RabidPsychoDog to the rescue! He has laid out in an easy to follow step-by-step format, the BCD Win2K installation procedure. Be forwarned, this process is not for the faint of heart. System registery editing is required. So remember, botch up your registry and you could find yourself reinstalling your operating system instead of playing Commandos. But hey, you're a Commnando damnit, give it a go and then send us a complete after action mission report. We have also mirred this procedure here for security reasons;-) Judging from the reports that have been coming in from people that have used this installer the results are mixed. The installer works great for BEL, however it doesn't appear to work for BCOD. And according to what Commandos 2 lead programmer Jon Beltran writes me, there are no current plans for making a Win2k installer for BCOD. The reasoning behind this decision is not clear. But if I had to guess, it is because all available resources are currently dedicated to completing Commandos 2. Good luck!
Problem 1: Starting BCD you are prompted to insert CD, even though the BCD CD is already in. Solution: Remove BCD CD and insert BEL CD. (Sounds odd but apparantly it works) Problem 2: Window ME has same situation, being prompted for the CD. Solution: Look into the registry entry "regedit", it should be under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Pyro\Commandos\1.0MP". Modify the entry "DirCd". the previous value was "F:\COMAN_MP" (F:\ was the CD-Rom Drive used for this particular installation) all you do is change the caps from capital to small letters: "F:\coman_mp". The game will load and you will still probably see Tiny with the insert cd notification. Just click cancel and you should be able to run the game.
NOTE: For additional information regarding problem 2 refer to the AMMUNITION-Q&A section.

Instructions:
A "trainer" is a third-party program that is designed to alter memory locations of running programs (games). In order for a trainer to work, it must be running simultaneously with the game it was written for. It is best to first start the game and actually begin playing, then switch back to Windows (using Alt+Tab) and run the trainer. Select the desired options and switch back to the game. Do not CLOSE the trainer until you are finished playing the game. Since trainers are written to alter SPECIFIC memory locations, they usually only work with specific versions of the game. This is the most common problem when trainers seem to be "not working".
