The
Bat: More or less the weakest enemy in the Catacomb games. All he
does is fly around and be stupid. One shot kills this little pesky
critter. The only problem with the bat, is that if he flies up behind
you, it attaches to you and starts to bite and claw at you, and
it is very hard to get these things off. |
|
The
Zombie: Also a weak enemy, less annoying than bats and not used
in hordes. Zombies only appeared in Catacomb Abyss and Armageddon.
They do a fair amount of damage if they somehow manage to get behind
you (or you just really suck at the game) One or two shots pretty
much clears these baddies out of the way. A really cool feature
was added to the zombies that you don't know where they are going
to pop up, so your radar won't detect them. This keeps you from
running through a level too fast. |
|
Black
Demon: Really only appears on the Garden of Lost Souls on Catacomb
Abyss. These little things are pretty useless. One shot will do
them off, and they don't hardly do any damage. These enemies CAN
materialize out of thin air, so like zombies, you cannot pick them
up on radar until they have materialized. |
|
Skeleton
Warrior: This enemy hangs out in most everywhere just being a pain.
This guy wields a sword and usually attacks in packs. Fortunately
one blow only inflicts 3% damage, but since they attack in packs,
they are really annoying, REALLY annoying. This guy appears in most
catacomb games, usually tweaked looks though, or sometimes this
dude will carry a CHAINGUN in the sewers?!#@!# |
 |
Mage:
Oh good god, these must be THE most annoying catacomb fiends ever.
They appear in every catacomb A trilogy games. These are weak little
guys, but they shoot fireballs at you, and they are FAST, they can
probably dodge any single shot you throw at them. And when you see
one, they are just like cockroaches, there will be millions more. |
|
Blue
Demon (Demon): Everybody hates this guy. The demon is one tough
little enemy. He takes about 10 hits to knock down and inflicts
serious damage. Occasionally appears in hordes. The little brother
to the bigger and badder red demon. This demon is considered in
Catacomb Abyss to be one of the "Two Titans" the other
being the massive troll. |
|
Orcs:
The first enemy you ever encountered in 3d, the low man of Catacomb
3d. It seems these little guys got a bit stronger for abyss though,
but not by much. These guys usually take 2 shots (regular) to kill,
and they actually inflict a decent amount of damage with that spear
they have. These guys are pretty smart actually and will follow
you all over. |
|
Trolls:
Haha the trolls, anyone who has played Catacomb 3d or Abyss knows
that these are some real bada** monsters. These "Titans"
(One of the 'Titan' races according to the 'Clash of the Titans'
level) These guys can beat the living crap out of you (With that
ball-and-chain no doubt. Not to mention it can take a bit to kill
these dudes. |
|
Water
Trolls: Found only in the Ancient Aqueduct, these baddies duck under
the water and resurface near you just to claw you to death. These
guys are really different because they can disappear and reappear
at will, so if you shoot a shot, he can just duck back under water,
like the annoying fool it is. About as tough as a Troll. |
|
Red Demon:
Nemesis' right-hand monster. The red demon has appeared in EVERY
catacomb game to date. He has even appeared in the game Hovertank-3d
(A fine shooter). This dude takes 2 or 3 zapper shots to kill,
if that tells you how hard they are. And they appear in hordes...
ugh.
|
|
Nemesis:
The evil dreaded nemesis. The big bada** of the catacomb. He shoots
fiery skulls at you that take 25% of your health for each and every
shot, so make sure you hold down that strafe key, because this will
be a hard battle. Nemesis is the bad guy of every single catacomb
game. Surprisingly he isn't as tough as a Demon. |
|
Zombie
2: This zombie is basically the same as the zombie you encounter
in Catacomb Abyss, but retains hair, and is just an overall cleaner
looking version of the zombie. Still does Minimal damage. They do
take one more shot than the one in abyss though, but that wont keep
you from taking these undead nasties out with ease. |
|
Evil
Ants: These uhm, cannon fodder enemies are found throughout the
first few levels, but end up in hordes that will attack you like
nothing in the game during the ant colony level, they take about
three hits to kill, and arrive in the level in undestroyable eggs.
The only advice i have for you is keep those zappers at hand, especially
in the any colony. |
|
Serpetine
Viper Woman: Softdisk doesn't know how to draw women do they? (G)
Well, anyway these 4 armed serpetines weild swords that do a fair
amount of damage, and when you first see them they are stone, and
it may take 3 minutes before they transform and start beating the
living crap out of you, and they usually appear in groups. They
take about 6 hits to kill too... that sucks. |
|
Evil
Mutated Demonic Bunnies (Heheheh): These uhm, cute furry and fuzzy
little creatures first appear as their oh-so cute innocent looking
rodent selves, then transform into some demented and demonic evil
bugs bunny, which is really scary that SoftDisk has such a twisted
sense of humor. Well actually these enemies are pretty tough, but
seldomly appear. Just mainly in the garden level, but serve a good
purpose of killing you while there. And don't run away from them
either, they will backstab you. |
|
Skeleton Warrior
#2: Okay Basically just look at the first skeleton warriors description.
This enemy hangs out in most everywhere just being a pain. This
guy weilds a sword and usually attacks in packs. Fortunately one
blow only inflicts 3% damage, but since they attack in packs,
they are really annoying, REALLY annoying. This guy appears in
most catacomb games, usually tweaked looks though, or sometimes
this dude will carry a CHAINGUN in the sewers?!#@!#
|
|
Evil
Scarry Trees: These dark wooden nasties like to hide out in the
Dark forest, waiting silently for you to come, looking just like
regular, otherwise normal trees just sitting there. That is until
you make a move by them, then they awake with their red eyes and
come slashing at you with their branches. These things can even
kill you in death because when you shoot them they catch fire, become
unpassable and will burn you if you come close to them. |
|
Weirded
out, evil green monsters: I don't know what in the hell to call
these things, they are big, and green, and nasty. They hobble around
the halls of the catacombs searching for you, and when they do,
they come at you slashing you with their gigantic fingernails (It's
a site to see in the game because of the crappy animation). When
they die it is hilarious, they inflate 'til they explode (Also due
to crappy animation) |
|
The
Wretched Pox: These uhm, eyes that float around the catacombs, well
float a lot.... They do however have really crappy and hilarious
animation when they squint their uhm, eye, and blast energy out
of their pupil. There isn't really much i can use to describe this
rather unique enemy, other than they can seem tough, and fall into
a pile of slop when they die |
|
Sea
Dragon: Okay not there are some hilarious characters just because
I guess softdisk got pretty lazy with animation designing the last
few enemies for Catacomb Armageddon. Oh come on it looks like a
retarded sea horse for god sakes. It is pretty weak actually, and
doesn't do as much damage as expected. They do submerge and desubmerge
like most of the water characters. |
|
Succubus:
You know I just cannot get over the fact that SoftDisk needs to
learn how to draw women. SoftDisk has gone over the edge with laziness
in animation on these enemies. They run around and shoot hearts
at you that take away a small sum of health. Well, all I can do
is laugh at this enemy. And they do take SOME hits to kill, so they
arent too easy or too much of a pushover. |
|
Red
Demon Version 2: These are a really cool variation of the Red Demon
throughout all catacomb games. Thank god the two heads does NOT
mean double the strength. They hold up about exactly to their Abyss
and 3d counterparts. They take a few zapper shots to kill. These
are only found in the fire levels in Armageddon I belive. Still
stronger than nemesis. |
