And with ST warp I thought TOS was just straight multiples of the speed of light while TNG was expotential like the Ricter Scale |
Look up at my post. The sup tags (or was it <super>super</super>) didn't work.

According to the Star Trek The Next Generation technical manual (ditl even goes as far as to say that it means this: Terrance-Neltorr Graduated. And it says you can find the second formula on page 55). | I don't really understand that coulld you please explain in
English and I don't have those books? I just remeber when I took one out of the library. Thanks

I'll admit your post was a tad confusing
And as for 0.5 past lightspeed, I think the .5 actually reffers to the fact that the millenium falcon has a .5 class hyperdrive. Even going 1.5 times the speed of light it would still take years and years to cross the galaxy, however it only takes a few weeks. So it's probably best to ignore the reference to the speed of light as hyperspace clearly works somewhat differently

At least those are new and very advanced technologies, ones that are faster than Warp drive in the ST universe.
SW Hyperdrive isnt a whole lot faster than say the Voyager's Max Warp speed of 9.975. Ive never fully understood the mechanics of hyperdrive tech, but it seems to me like the ships' HS drive would create an artificial hyperspace rift.

Vou're right, the rating for a ship's hyperdrive is a 'Class' rating with no direct reference to the ships actual speed above LS, I.e. in the Clone War era most capital ships were using Class-3 drives, while near the end-toward the Battle of Yavin, most starfighters and cruisers were using Class 1-2s.

SW likes to ignore physical reality and scientific theory.

YEAH, i totally agree, thats one of the reasons why i like ST more than SW, the stuff and techs in ST could actually be created one day.

U gotta love the TMP warp drive But I voted for TNG onwards since its more "refined" then the earlier warp drives. SW hyperspace is cool but I dunno as has been said it ignors alot of stuff.
Oh yeh Hi everyone Im new here havent had time online lately

Yeh I have noticed the downwards slide in posts, however its still active, besides you think this is bad you should see our clans forums we find it hard to come up with new Convs lol
Atm I am fiine with BC although occasionaly I crash it with the install of a new mod but it sorts itself out in the end. Most the time
