Yeah the flak cannons will be added later when I get all the main body and proportions of the ship modelled. That way i can just clone as many cannons as I need and place em onto the parts that they are located.

Check your smoothing errors, either change the smoothing tollerance of the surface or seperate the stencilled greebles into seperate objects.
Other than that, good modelling work.

Great work. I'm wondering if it would be easier for someone to start off with the Pegasus though (Y'know, the really beautiful one we saw last night) and then move on to the more complicated Galactica.

yeah but thats the pint of me building Galactica in the first place lol
Its more of a showcase of how well Ile do a complicated thing like this rather than starting simple, besides my opinion is galactica is a visually more interesting design with all the ribs and signs of wear and tear on it.
Havent seen pegasus yet but will soon, looking forward to it anyways.
Will have some updates later on in the day

The Pegasus has more of a smoothed look, and has less places that are hard to see (Unlike some areas of Galactica, like where the flight pods retract to).

Another update
Sorry been so slow updating but with work and other stuff im just swamped up to my neck in things lol
I started modelling the main body its a super bitch to do but ive the rough work pinned down, dont mind the top piece thats just a rough template im working with to get scale sorted and all that, mian thing is detailing the body which is the tricky part cuse all the ribs have to meet more precisely on this piece more than the front section.

This is AWESOME! Athough I do NOT watch the NEW BSG (or the OLD one), its because I don't have Space Channel, and its s-e-x content in the new show....
Great Model! Now its never gonna work on BC, so it must be CGI now!
Now I really want to watch BSG!!!!!!!..now I just gotta find the old novel....and get caught up on events....

Fixed some mesh errors and added some more details and panelling still lots to do on this beast tho especially the engines they will be the next piece to go on. Debating wheather or not to include a fully detailed landing section which im weigh heavily for but Ile see what happens cuse ive a week off coming up on the 17th and might want to get it ready for then.

The ribs in that last shot look like they've got a good deal of kinks in them. What's up with that?
