I want it to be a fantastic looking bridge. What programs do I need?
Bridge I want to build: 2005/2006 version of the TARDIS interior.
I want to make it so that I dont have to put any pressure on anyone else.
I DONT want it to be dependable on any 'Bridge Plugin' file.
Example picture of the TARDIS bridge is below

that says it all
you need max 6/7/8 for modeling
Back From Five for Max 6,7,8 > max 3
max 3 for max > nif
you need to learn how to lightmap bridges
you need to learn how to make animations for bridges
finally you need to learn how to script the bridge into the game
btw what is it with you and bridge plugin? i can understand you saying you dont like 0.8 since it was a beta.. but to rule out the final version because of that seems very short sighted, especially considering the advantages BP offers over basic foundation.

ok about bridge plugin, the beta was full of bugs... thats why its called a beta. The final is already out, it has no bugs I am aware of.
whatever your feelings about bridge plugin its here to stay, the TOS bridge pack will require it as will the prometheus and probably the generations galaxy bridge too.
about the set you want to build, its going to take a high poly count, and a skilled mapper but theres no reason you couldnt give it a try.

About the "dependancy" on BP.
There is no dependancy, your BC will work fine without it, just don't say that the effects don't work or that the bridge doesn't look like the screenshots.
Also, don't install any BP modules, since they would require BP.
Now, to go back to topic, I myself would love a Tardis bridge, though I might go for an earlier design, because you would be able to place a viewscreen.

You forgot about character studio 2.2 for the character NIF's.

correct, max 3.1 and character studio 2.2.
basically if you can build yourself a model thats a good starting point

actually the conny bridges wont run in a quickbattle without Bridge Plugin, its rather odd.. and the prometheus wont have many red alert effect without it

There actually is a view screen in the version I want to build. Its seen many times in the series. Its just really small and is on the central control panel but it is there. Can anyone give me links to those modeling programs then? Ive got GMAX and Milkshape 177.d at the moment.

I know of that one.

Ah. I didnt know that. Maybe I will start off with an earlier version of the TARDIS bridge and see how it goes. Tutorials would be nice aswell.
