Yeh sorry i only put that for short thats all,how about some sort of mod that allows you to "receive" distress signals from random ships rather then just send them perhaps this may add some kind of "duty" feeling to the game to make it feel less one track...just an idea lads

excellent lol im really looking foward to this
also what if you could get your hands on a shuttle cockpit as a bridge for when inside shuttles,to my knowledge this has not been done yet and makes sense for it to be done and perhaps more options under the science menu (ie) scanning for life signs on planets and deralicts and also an animation that alows crew bots on bridge to fly across it when the ship is hit ,and also to run rather then calmly walk when ship under attack

also would an ambush scenario be possible were enemy crew beam onto the bridge? then using the ships phaser animation perhaps you could adapt it so it can be made to look as if your firing it at the enemy crew
btw i have no scripting modding capabilitys im all talk lol

That is currently not possible in New Frontiers Life time, Basically because it would involve creating new Bridge Annimations, ATM its looking like our plans to have a new Bridge Crew are drifting away, unless we can get someone like mark or Jesse to join the team within the next few weeks. I don't like asking, people to join the team but if noone volunteers then i'll have to start looking.

ive been trying to reverse the distress signal script to receive signals from other ships(as this would be so great) but have been stymied ,any1 have any ideas on this

well technically you can't just "reverse" the script, you would have to write a whole new one.

I said i would keep this thread for updates and so here we go another New Frontier Update.
1. Missions continue to come allong smoothly Dero our Chief Missions Scripter has been working really hard on them and they sound good.
2. Ships: The Shake up with loosing the Permissions for the Entire vulcan Ships has been reversed apparantly we now do have permission to use them, We should be releasing the NX-Era Vulcan Ship pack in a few weeks.
3. Systems Next to Missions the New systems in new frontier are slowly coming allong most likely because of the large numbers of them. Once we get the systems working everything else should fall into place.
4WIP: Construction and AI, Constructing ships is once again Proving to be a problem the Current Code by defiant currently cant do the things that we need it to do also it requires that KOBMaru be installed, Dont get me wrong i like Kobamaru, however it dosnt seem like a good idea for people to download a large new Frontier File and A Large KM file simply for the construction features.
5WIP: Missions Loading. I have a code to load missions into Quickbattle. This code has been tested with The Mealstrom Missions However the problems are still running deep, The Ship isn't appearing in cutscenes some things are being skipped or missed out however the code does work just not very well ATM.
Well that about does it for NF Updates for now.

An important Update, Starship Construction a core feature of the New Frontier Dynamic Universe is finally functioning the way i want it to, After several weeks i've managed to extract the Construction Mod Defiant Made (Big Thanks there) from Kobayashimaru, not only that the code will now assign a specific AI to a certain Group Of Ships, So For example
All Constructions Ships with the ID: CargoShip1, Will randomly be assigned a Trade Route AI, Earth - Vulcan, Earth - Andoria, Earth - Draylax.
Also once i get the local systems, and core Races home systems working, I'll modify the code further to include an economy based on population, Resorces and Systems.
Additionally i think i've cracked the code to assign New Systems to a hardpoint of a ship such as Transporters, Replicators, Life Support, and Crew Limit, So expect the Transporters, Life Support and Crew Levels to make an apearance, I may be able to find away to Kill the Bridge crew.
So the next month or so should really see some progress made.

Thats makes me wondering. IIRC my construct code can only assign the default foundation AI to the ship.
