this was a hobby i was tinkering with a few weeks (and before) ago; been too busy to think much about it recently... had some time to work on it tonight...
this would adjust how the viewscreen "zooms" to tactical, when hitting f2 in bridge-mode... simple changes to the felix character py...
i figured id put out the "fixes", and coordinates, for the ent-a and excelsior bridges to fellow BCU-patrons if they liked the ones i set for my own personal install...
just wasnt sure which people thought would be better...
one looks "closer" to the viewscreen, the other has a more-broad view of the bridge...
or should it look more left, right, up, down, closer? lol
i like my settings for my install, but was considering what other people would like?

Tough call actually. I like the realism of the second onw, but sometimes I do like to get a nice closeup view of the action. That being said, it's pretty rare that I play in Bridge mode, mostly cuz the computer's an idiot.
Overall, I'd say I like the second one better. Anything that improves the games realism is good in my books.
oh yeah, nicely done jimmy.

Personally i choose exc1, since i have a better view of the ship i'm engaging. Also it is much easier to to manual fire.

I guess it kinda depends on the size of the viewscreen.

I prefer the second one, it's more realistic. I value realism over playism nine times out of ten.

hmmm... split vote... lol
ok, ill post both
keep in mind, it's not perfect...
for the "broad view", the camera does look a tad to the left, but i wanted it to sort of "center" it to the two vertical pillars next to the viewscreen, taking into account felix's menu... and for the "close" view, i also took into consideration felix's menu and wanted the viewscreen centered from there...
also, for the "broad" view, i turned the camera downward slightly as best i could on the Ent-A (and thus Miranda) bridge, for those who have the Ent-A Active LCARS you can see them while in combat...
*PLEASE* be sure to backup your originals in case you dont like this, and would rather stare at felix during combat...
incidentally, i have done every character on every bridge in my install (personally, i dont prefer to zoom so close to characters on bridges), if there are any requests post here and i'll show what i have done or try and explain how to go about doing it for yourself...
i havent encountered any "bugs" with any of my modifications, tho no one has tested them i dont think there should be any issues *crosses fingers*
wow, my first "mod" ever hehe better late than never i guess... i dont see a need for something so slight as this to go to BCFiles (cuz then i would have to write up a readme and blah blah blah )
all credits due to LC, Viper, and Mark (and else) who made these bridges...
hope everyone likes this

you want to go closer? it's all here:
Code: |
pEXLFelix.AddPositionZoom("EXLTactical", 0.7, "Tactical")
pEXLFelix.AddPositionZoom("EXLTactical", 0.7)
|
change the 0.7 to a lower value, like 0.5 or 0.4...
can't promise it would be centered still, tho... that's where:
Code: |
pEXLFelix.SetLookAtAdj(7.5, 0, 62)
|
comes into play...

lol well i had neglected to include the ent-b "fixes", since the bridge was just released publically i personally felt better getting the "ok" before doing so... no biggie
this is the "broad" view for this ent-b viewscreen, for anyone who would like it... (KirkNCC1701's is the "close" view...)
