Done some hair, standard polygonal method. Looks quite scary, working on that bit.

Done some more texturing recently. Not perfect but I'm going to try it again from scratch when I've done some more of this one.

I had the same feeling. I think maybe the upper lip is slightly too pronounced.

Yep. That's what it is. Other than that (and the slightly cross-eyed eyes ) it looks good!

Its quite badly put together , I basically followed a tutorial that was entirely in Japanese and just followed the picture. At the moment I'm in tweak city, there's a few smoothing errors around the cheeks that are being quite bitchy with me and of course, there's so many things wrong with it that you just can't quite figure out.
I'll take a look at the lip in a second, the background plate that I was following was a bit cartoonish.

I like the style, so yes, its more or less intentional but I haven't taken it to teh extreme.

i assume it´s your major facial work. Of course it needs politing as the face is cheeky and you see several marks on it, but it´s much better than my first work at this area.
So, my overall word is that it´s a very good model armond, though in some more time you´ll sure think that it´ll look bad compared to the newest ones.

Yes, for some reason the cheeks just refuse to work properly. That can be worked on, its just a case of getting the positioning right.
For those of you who are interested, here's the tutorial.
http://www.little-tenderness.com/chimera.cgi?head=Head_Menu.html&tail=./04_Making/04_Making02.html
And another render. Hair is more or less finished, I need to do the back of course but I may be doing something different there. The wiry, high volume look at the back is only visible once rendered, I'll sort that out next.

And some more. Just tweaking now so no major updates. Average render time for the 400x400 shots is around 6 mins, just thought I'd point it out.

Looks like she's really skinny, some facial fat may be required, but that's just me...

I'm still tweaking it. I'm also going to finish this one and put it in a scene with some other stuff I'm making.
I may post a WIP of it or just suprise you all with the finished product. Hopefully it'll be ace!

Retextured it from scratch. Some very nice 1024x1024 maps on it. Although a graphics tablet would have helped loads with that (birthday is coming up...). I've been messing with the lighting on this all day to get the effect I want, still not exactly how I want it though. This is part of a larger scene I'm making but since the body isn't complete yet i'm not posting it. There are a few other completed objects around though, could post those separately.
Oh, I'd just thought I'd point out a nifty little feature that you can't replicate in real life. NEGATIVE light intensity, essentially sucking the light out of the image as opposed to putting it in. How cool is that? It also causes shadows to be luminous if you switch ray tracing on (not recommended if you're trying for a realistic render).

Looks Awsome!,I saw a link somewhere that had a plug-in for Max that would scan any picture of a person and give you a wireframe version that you could work from, then u could plug it in illustrator and do a clone brush to get the face colors etc,I cant find the link atm though, want me to post it when I find it?

I don't use Max and I doubt any plugin that would generate a wireframe of a face would work very well.
Now I'm working on a mini scene. The head and arms aren't done yet. The head is the one I've just made, I'll go back to that later and add hair and other features. The cello could really do with some work on it though and the lighting and surfacing definitely aren't final.

And some hair. Not completely finished yet. I'm currently rendering a better lit version and its taking forever.
