          | Sorry if this has been posted, but is there a way to show impulse speeds as "1/8, 1/4 etc impulse" instead of "x kph"?
(and also changing the speeds to be faster)

          | The 1/8th type is going to be hard.
But the other thing is more possible.

If you play in the console with this function:

  	  | Code: | | App.UtopiaModule_SetGameUnitConversionFactor |
Then you might be able to get the factor you want.

The function takes a single parameter in the form of:

  	  | Code: | | App.UtopiaModule_SetGameUnitConversionFactor(DecimalNumber) |
Where DecimalNumber is a number like 10.0 or 0.1 or 100.125464258

          | that's pretty pointless simulating *actual* impulse speed.
You'd move so fast that you wont be able to play anymore.

          | maybe just increase "in-system warp". This can be useful 'cause when you choose "overload matter/antimatter..." and then transport to a ship you need to get away REALLY fast in order to live

The stock in-system warp speed is hardcoded. You can use Dasher's Intercept Acceleration for a quick getaway.

          | yeah but dasher's intercept acceleration works only when you have a target selected. I DON'T have a target selected - I want to get AWAY from a ship really fast (at least 100000km/h).

          | isnt there the button 'in-system warp'? check bcfiles for an according mod.
apart from that, wouldnt it be wiser to check bcfiles for mods already available than opening a thread on any thing you search? just a hint

          | I know that button. I'll try to find out how to increase that speed. I've searched the forum ofcourse.
ok - did it - it was the warp.py file that needed editing

          | Try this:
Go to Brex's Advanced Power Settings and set the power for 'Speed' then boost the engine output to 125%. Then go to Kiska and tell her to "Engage Warp." It should be the top button. Make sure you're moving at top speed (should display 9 at the bottom right of the tactical view)

If you still can't get away fast enough, I don't think there's a mod out there that's going to help you. lol

Be warned... sometimes this makes the ship handle funny.... Very funny.

          | if its like it is in KM, you have to reboost the engines, when you go to "warp" in system, the code sets the engine power to 100%, so you have to boost it again
i've only found a funny handleing problem when i boost repair power on some ships
