It seems that BC MP crashes for me all the time. The most common version is when i am hosting and the game just freezes. This seems to happen most just as players are joining the game, warping and/or respawning.

I am running a 1.5 Athlon with 1/2 a gig of memory and no other applications and a cable modem.

I have tried hosting smaller games (4 players), putting "no Modems" in the game name and using non warping systems...but it still happens.

- is it just me?
- thoughts on how to minimize it? (eg: turning off some background aps, graphics settings, etc)

maybe try dl it again or getting an older version

Good to see your still around spacemanspiff.

Have you tried the stabliser patch that ssmike made? It should be on the mpmp website. It certainly does make bc that bit more stable and doesn't make any changes to the actual game itself. For use with 1.1 and mpmp. Still crashes/freezes every now and then, but not nearly as much as it does without the patch.

is one of you using a different version? one could be using v1.1 and the other v1.0

Does your computer regularly freeze on the net or when running many programs? Or is it just the game that's crashing.
My rig just freezes up when I'm using the net and I try to do anything remotely complicated on the computer at the same time (it just happened a few seconds ago actually).

(Despite what my sig says, I should have thought a little more about that one...)

If it's the game, it'll be a software fault and I can't really add to the above comments.

Also, for some reason I can never seem to host a game. nobody ever shows up. and when I go to my other computer it doesnt show up, so I dont know. I use a DSL connection

ok after hearing so much about the kobiashi Maru I am currently downloading it and am reading to install as soon as it is done downloading.

Is there anything I need to know about it.

I must admit I never liked it when my BC games crashed. Does multiplayer crash often?
